Hey dont know if anybody caught it but Ravech, Kruk, and Baker were just making there predictions for 2007 and Kruk said whoever Dusty is coaching, Baker sai the Muts and than Ravech said the Marlins!!! Never thought I would see this day but it just gets me that more excited for opening day next year. :)

that's kool. That'd be soo kool to win it all next year, I am soo damn excited for baseball to start back up.

hah, thats nice of Karl to say that lol. Another person who would say Marlins would have been Harold Reynolds.

Because idiot ESPN predictions actually matter.

damn man why can't you just enjoy when someone on national TV gives our team some props instead of just dumping on it.

If it was already into the season, or spring training, I might disagree .. but we just ended the '06 season, so predictions are pointless right now.

Yeah the only prediction that is accurate enough that is worth looking at right now is the Troll Prediction. ESPN prediction is like guessing a number at this point.

ESPN coverage of the Marlins is both half-hearted and lazy, so don't expect hardcore fans to really care if they make a positive comment about the team here or there. As a rule of thumb national analysis of the Marlins is irrelevant and bereft of insight, including positive coverage.

Also, predictions about baseball is all guesswork, even if you start them at the start of the post-season.

I always liked Karl Ravech. Smart smart guy.

Keeping in mind that it is far too early to start predicting anything:

"Whoever Dusty is coaching" is one of the worst predictions ever. Dusty is coming off of multiple horrific seasons with the Cubs. I guess they're playing the "he was only bad because he was cursed" card.

Dusty Baker managing the Marlins wouldn't exactly be a good thing. A coach with a losing problem is never good.

he's just being nice. I doubt he really thought that. He's just being courteous to a guest on the show.

His pitching was ass-ravaged. Dusty Baker, regardless of what you may think of his style doesn't have a losing problem.

He is 1162-1041, was thrice NL Manager of the Year, made the postseason several times and the World Series once.

My sentiments exactly. Though I will admit I was suprised to hear Ravech blurt this out just before ESPN's postgame show ended last night. For most of the season, he almost invariably had a snide comment about the Marlins ready or a chuckle anytime another analyst said something positive about the Marlins during the few times they got coverage on BBTN.

he is a horrible manager...we had to endure his ass for 10 years, and it took him costing us the f***ing world series for the Giants to finally dump his ass

I will NEVER forgive his son's action of interfering with a play at the plate. I know I've probably told you guys this a million times, but if they hadn't happened, I would of been the batboy in '03, and would be typing to you right now with a world series ring on my finger. That makes me wanna cry just thinking of that.

Can we please get over ESPN already? Whenever they speak about the Marlins in a positive light it's always "YES YES YES YES YES these guys are so smart" and whenever they make a negative comment about the Marlins it's derided and everyone says, "blah blah blah ESPN is stupid and all the commentators are idiots".

Pretty nice of them, but like most have said already, predictions are pointless right now! Especially when we don't even know what moves teams in our division (Braves) might make. So stay tuned, and hold off or disreguard all predictions to just get your hopes up. Like I use to tell all my firends back in high school, JUST CHILL!

At the end of the '02 season, John Silverman, the equipment manager, called my dad and offered the batboy job to me for the '03 season. At this point there was no age limit (I was 11 at the time). the playoffs started , and during the WS dusty baker's little kid ran out to get a bat on homeplate and JT Snow had to snag him as he was sliding into homeplate, to keep him from interfering with the runner coming in right behind him. Selig set an age requirement for batboys (13), and I was too young, so I was called and told I wasn't going to be able to be batboy, and they would have to find someone else. Obviously, the marlins ended up winnning the world series in 2003, and if the baker incident wouldn't of happened, I would of been the batboy for the world series team and I would have gotten a ring. :confused

I did get to be batboy for a game in 2005, but that was just one game. I had a terrific time, the time of my life. That was really neat. I got to give Delgado/Lo Duca fists after they hit homers during the game. Cabs gave me a high five before the game. I got to talk to Perry Hill. I got to meet Jack McKeon's german babes...
