Who's the Biggest Ego in Baseball??

Featured Replies

How the hell is captain roids not closer to #1? I believe Reggie should have

been #1 but Barry should have been a close second.

I don't know, man. Rickey very easily could have been #1. The guy talks about himself in the 3rd person! I don't have a problem with them being 1-2 in either order. I agree that Bonds should probably be 3 - definately top 5. Ted Williams and Pete Rose should probably fill out the top 5, but that's just me.

Shilling isnt a deusche.

Roger should be top 10 though

This isn't a "who is the biggest 'deusche' [sic]" contest, this is a "who has the biggest ego" contest. Two different things.

No Mike Piazza?

Why?

I guess you'd have to have a pretty big ego if you did stupid pert-plus

commercials and think that nobody would consider you a total fruit.

Hey - hold on a second there, buckaroo. Iron Head Heyward did a commercial for Zest with a lather builder and he was all man, chump! :thumbup

No Mike Piazza?

Why?

Because he's a certified a**hole.

I met Piazza a few years ago at the Cheesecake Factory in Boca and he seemed pretty genuinely nice to me...

Cabs has a pretty big ego himself.

Heh, if you get a chance, hang out at the place where the players drive into the park and enter on gameday. They're ALL cocky.

Gary Sheffield.

here's a quote on Bobby Abreu: "He's a good player, but like I say, you can draw it up any kind of way: he aint' me. And that's the bottom line."

^ He has a point though. I would rather my team face Abreu everyday and twice on Sunday then have to face Sheff. I don't think there is another hitter in the game who absolutely looks and gives you the feeling he can go yard on every single swing.

Lets not forget that lack of people skills and ego are 2 completely different things.

IMO, Barry just lacks people skills and that coupled with the fact that his life is a gossip column fest, makes him seem as if he has a big ego.

I dont think Barry has a big ego. In fact, I think he is the exact opposite.

My vote for biggest ego in baseball is the Braves starting CF'r.
