May 4, 200719 yr I dont understand this whole Eric Reed thing. Two years ago he was rated one of our top ten prospects. How could he of fallen so far? They have never really given him are fair shot. Whats the deal?

Whats the deal? When you bat that poorly, it is inevitable. It's one thing to bat 210, or 230 and have an OBP 320. People can have patience with that. When you bat 098 and have an OPS around 300, that's a different story.

Whats the deal? Who was only rated so high because he was hitting .300 at every level. But it was an empty .300 and many of the hits were infield hits. He is just not a very good baseball player, offensively.

Whats the deal? He just hasn't been able to translate his skills to the majors..In the majors you can't steal first base...Fastballs are faster, breaking balls break harder. He is overmatched by major league pitching
May 5, 200719 yr he just cant hit at the major league level...like someone here has in their sig about Joey Gathright...Eric Reed would be a good major league player if he could steal first base
May 5, 200719 yr I keep remembering how lost Luis Castillo looked in 1996. And he turned out OK. I'm not saying Eric will turn into Luis, but different players do mature at different rates. Assuming other skills are above average, age 26/27 is about when you give up on a hitter.

May 5, 200719 yr He looks so young I question if he's slept with anyone's mom. If he has I'm sure the act was done in the traditional way. Him on top. If he was on the bottom there would be a pretty good chance he'd be crushed or for sure have the wind knocked out of him. . .

May 6, 200719 yr Yorman Bazardo was a top 10 prospect two years ago LOL I was just looking at Josh Karp's lifetime stats and wondering what he's doing with his $2,650,000 signing bonus these days.
May 6, 200719 yr For those of you that don't follow a player when he's in the minors its hard to understand how Reed made it to the show. He's hit at least .300 at every level in the minors including the pitcher friendly FSL and stolen bases at a successful rate. Now why doesn't this translate to MLB ? He's one of several players that maybe considered AAAA talent, but won't or can't produce in the majors. But based on his minor numbers he deserved his shots.
