May 13, 200719 yr I'm not sure what this organization is thinking. Our outfield was already a patch job with Amezaga and Borchard in there most of the time, but really throwing in Abercrombie is just the icing on the cake. I know Ross is hurt and we need a right-handed bat, but honestly, Reggie might as well step in the box without a bat. He really doesn't need it anyway. His fielding looks like Cabrera's during the first year he played left field --- a dance routine. Don't get me started about his sulking after he misplayed the Kearns ball. He sulked and threw a little tantrum out in CF long enough for Willingham to come over and pick up the ball, causing them to have some awkward contact. This is the major leagues, leave the sulking behind in little league, please. Thanks. It's just sickening. Tank and Julio aren't helping, either.
May 13, 200719 yr In Reggie's defense of the ITPHR, Willingham needs to be backing him up there I think Reggie was more in shock that Hammer was nowhere to be seen, than the fact he was sulking
May 13, 200719 yr Come on, Reggie has had his time as the fish fans whipping boy. And he isnt going to stick around long enough to even put up the effort of bashing his every little move. Its other peoples turn.
May 13, 200719 yr Author No matter what, you can't stand there and have a tantrum when there's a loose ball and a guy running the bases, especially in such a big park.
May 13, 200719 yr This guy is not a baseball player, he is an athlete disguised as a baseball player. He cannot properly use one of his tools and he still manages to find a way onto the big league roster. Incredible. What a joke. I have been watching the Marlins for several years, and GarbageMan is easily the worst player to wear a Marlins uniform in that time.
May 13, 200719 yr Reggie is AWFUL. On Friday night I watched him with my own eyes completely blow a Schneider fly ball by jumping too early. Shall we get started on his bat? It's absolute torture to watch him and Olivo batting back to back. When I drove three hours to RFK to see the Marlins play and I saw that was their lineup, I almost blew my head off.

Haha i felt the same way you did I flew into Pittsburgh early Friday morning then drove from there all the way to Wahington and when i finally walked into the stadium i looked up at the jumbotron and wanted to turn around and go home.
May 13, 200719 yr IF this is the patch job their going for in the outfield why not bring Hermanson up? I know he's killing the ball in a hitters league, but he's still got to face some pitchers some time.
May 13, 200719 yr I just had to chime in-I have been in shock since the Kearns hit yesterday that Reggie could leap 5 feet from where the ball landed and could have been caught without jumping. Then, of course, I could handle someone not getting a hit with the bases loaded except when you could bet the house that he had no chance of getting one. He is clueless at the plate, lost in the outfield on anything other than a routine fly ball and I get stomach cramps watching him. His swings are forced and tight, rather than loose and natural. I would rather see D Train or Olsen pinch hit for him, that is how bad it is to watch him. GET RID OF HIM, please, this is not about being nice, this is about the major leagues and a professional job. You do not get a spot because you are nice and work hard. Never, never, Never do I want to see him out there.
May 13, 200719 yr I am guessing that Reggie did something bad in the later innings this morning. I went to bed at 11:30 because I was sick of seeing Uggla's baby face on the t.v. So, someone please explain to me what Reggie did?

May 13, 200719 yr should Willingham have backed up Reggie on that play? Hell yes without a doubt! Though Reggie's routes and jumps on balls are horrible. He couldn't get it together last year, so there's no reason to continue to let him do it this year.

Lets start a campaign

Lets start a campaign I'm assuming your being facetious. That said there has to be someone out there that's a whole lot better than the options they've used thus far. Reed, Abercrombie, Gall and Borchard simply are not the answer.
May 14, 200719 yr Abercrombie is awful, and frankly I don't think it is an accident that we went into a tailspin as soon as he saw gametime, but the outfield (not deep to begin with) has been ravaged. Our starting RF is out, so we platoon our bench players in right. Then our CF is hurt and we have one bench player start every game, even though he can't hit lefties, and platoon 2 others in CF. Then the only OF bench player that can hit LHP gets hurt. What do you expect the team to do? Play only 8 guys?
May 14, 200719 yr Then our CF is hurt and we have one bench player start every game, even though he can't hit lefties Reed and Abercrombie cant hit anyone, so that must mean Ross...who crushes LHP but sucks against RHP.

Nope, it means Borchard. Hermida is hurt, so Ross/Borchard platoon (-1 from the bench) and can hit as appropriate. Then DeAza is hurt, so Borchard has to face lefties Then Ross is hurt, so Amezega has to face lefties. So we have 2 guys that can't hit lefties and another guy that can't hit anyone (or field), and people wonder where the trouble came from.

I fully agree with you CanesNFish, Abercrombie makes potential relatively easy catches look difficult because he gets himself turned around by taking poor routes to the ball. If his offense were fantastic I could see putting him out there, but damn!
