June 2, 200719 yr Don't get me wrong, Fredo and Reggie have been doing a great job manning CF for us this year. They have been getting on base and producing runs, but the front office needs to go out and get a real CF. Someone young, talented and an on base machine. I am not sure if we are waiting for our savior from our organization (no idea who) or waiting for the right deal to come by. We have been waiting for a real CF for about 2 years and I think it's about time for us to get our wish. (But, I don't to give up our good talent- can't have our cake and eat it too ). This team could be so much better with that hole filled up. Fredo can go back to being a utility infielder... Uggla and Hanley can get a break every now and then. With all our injured souls coming back we could make a run for it... Getting that hole filled up could send a message to the team that the FO believes that they can compete this year. Enough with my chattering... So, who do you think we should go after (now or off season)? Should we go after a minor leaguer or major leaguer?
June 2, 200719 yr I'd explore trading Mitre while his value right now is high for possibly maybe a Rocco Baldelli...
June 2, 200719 yr i'd like to see what De Aza can do when he finally comes back before we trade our best pitcher so far this season....
June 2, 200719 yr We're going to see what De Aza has, and I really regret that. I think, if the Marlins are going to say "we're in it," we can't wait for health from anything but a known quantity. It's unfortunate, but I think our centerfield aquisition is going to be getting De Aza healthy. But, if I had my preferences, I'd get a moderate production, moderate cost guy...no balls to the walling for a guy like Baldelli.
June 2, 200719 yr I'd explore trading Mitre while his value right now is high for possibly maybe a Rocco Baldelli... yousir are loco! hes due now any day for a no-hitter, i feel it comming, and i want it to be @ the marlins. Anyway, it would be ludacris to trade mitre right now, he is the best, yes THE BEST starting pitcher we have right now. He would be more value to us than trading him for some1 mediocre. plus, his trade value is not particularly high right now.
June 2, 200719 yr Author just call up Jacoby Ellsb.... f*** Who did the Sox want from us? Maybe somehow we can kidnap him.
June 2, 200719 yr were not in the race. dont you know who owns us right now? were not making any moves unless its giving people up. this isnt 2003.
June 2, 200719 yr Author Jacoby Ellsbury this year... AA: 73ab, 16r, 33h, 10 2b, 3 3b, 13rbi, 6bb, 7k, 8sb, .452avg AAA: 108ab, 22r, 31h, 4 2b, 2 3b, 4rbi, 12bb, 15k, 11sb, .287avg Jacoby says "I want to be a Fish"
June 2, 200719 yr Just don't give up any starting pitching except maybe Olsen while he still has some value.
June 2, 200719 yr I'd explore trading Mitre while his value right now is high for possibly maybe a Rocco Baldelli... Have you lost your mind!?! We don't need a centerfielder WE NEED A CATCHER!!! :banghead
June 2, 200719 yr were not in the race. dont you know who owns us right now? were not making any moves unless its giving people up. this isnt 2003. We're very much in it. Btw, change your stupid name.
June 2, 200719 yr can someone PLEASE tell me why they think Rocco Baldelli is special? hes injured 98% of the time, and isnt that much better of what we already have.
June 2, 200719 yr Author were not in the race. dont you know who owns us right now? were not making any moves unless its giving people up. this isnt 2003. We are just 6.5 games out... :whistle
June 2, 200719 yr just call up Jacoby Ellsb.... f*** Who did the Sox want from us? Maybe somehow we can kidnap him. What kind of deal would it take? I bet Cody Ross and couple prospects would do it... Maybe Sinkbeil Ross Tucker
June 2, 200719 yr You guys are nuts if you think we should deal a talented young pitcher just coming into his own to temporarily fill a position that is arguably not even a hole. Good starting pitchers are worth their weight in gold. I think it would be foolish to deal any one of our talented young pitchers for anyone less than a future hall of famer right now. I should say a future hall of famer who is young and going to be with the team for awhile. Maybe a Miguel Cabrera type, but also a fast center fielder. It ain't gonna happen!
June 2, 200719 yr Yeah, because 22 year olds who project to be 2-3 starters are worth fast, future hall of fame center fielders. Good one.
June 2, 200719 yr Id be happy with Brady Clark. Wouldnt cost much. His production(in a small sample size, granted) as a starter has been good. Plus, you know, the Dodgers got that wiggly feel this offseason...Clark is expendable to them.
June 2, 200719 yr Yeah, because 22 year olds who project to be 2-3 starters are worth fast, future hall of fame center fielders. Good one. Who is a future hall of famer? I want Elijah Dukes and think he is attainable right now. Give em Tank.
