July 18, 200719 yr Jeff Clement, Adam Jones, Wladimir Balentien, possibly the aformentioned Mark Lowe (although his stock has been rising), and a litany of prospects. Their system is very underrated overall, IMO. Seattle would be the best team to trade Willis to, as they have players to trade in all of the positions that we need an upgrade (outfield, SP, catching).

Two at our top positional needs (C, CF), and the other a LF which is arguable since we need to improve team defense and picking 1 of Hammer/Jacobs for 1B is probably a good idea. Plus, a lot of fun throw in tops like J. Reed and single A pitching that's half decent.

Even though the Marlins have made no public indication that they're looking to part with their marquee left-hander, that hasn't stopped his name from coming up in speculation. The Seattle Times wrote that the Mariners could be interested if Jeff Weaver's struggles continue, and FoxSports.com reported last week that the Mets, Dodgers, Red Sox, Rockies and D-backs also could be bidders. July 18, 200719 yr Yea, it isn't that much of a stretch that Willis could regain some of his form. thank you I understand he's not 2005 Willis but he isnt just going down and getting worse and worse after each and every start. He could pull together a couple of wins with a nice ERA for that and all of the sudden he becomes the stellar pitcher he once was.

I'd ask for Clement, Balentien, and J. Reed, and I would throw in Armando. If they say no, I would throw in Gregg and ask for a Harvey Garcia type throwin in A ball in return. They really can't turn that deal down. For the Marlins, wouldn't really need to bring in ANYONE in the offseason theoretically. This team costs like $22 bills give or take a few hundred thousand. If they'd sign a real bench 2nd IF, bring in a solid setup man, and a backend # 4/5 SP or better vet innings eater, this team would be looking real good short and longterm. Starters - Clement, Hammer, Uggla, Hanley, Cabrera, Balentien, J. Reed/Platoon, Hermida Bench - Amezaga, Cody, Jacobs, Treanor/Baker, Andino/Carroll/De Aza/Reggie/Whatever Rotation - Johnson, Olsen, Anibal, Mitre, G. Hernandez/R. Vanden Hurk Bullpen - Nolasco, Owens, Lindstrom, Tank, Pinto, Kensing, C. Martinez Absolutely no depth behind it in the minors for 2008 (2009 changes big time), but that's not a bad squad. Sick options of moving around your IF and OF with Hammer, Reed, and the bench able to flip all over the place. I really hope some sort of deal with them goes down. It would be tremendous.

I like where your going but if your throwing in Gregg you gotta get Adam Jones back even if you have to remove Balentien.
July 19, 200719 yr i am starting to wonder if it is going to turn around for the D-Train , he really hasnt pitched well for 2 years and very few of his starts have been good , it might be beneficial for both sides for a trade to occur
