The Marlins beat the Indians in Game 1 of the World Series, 7-4

homeruns by CJ and Alou, with Livan going 5.2 for the win

box score

White, renteria and sheffy a combined 0-10! The back end of the line up and Bonilla picked up there slack.

We had 7 runs on 7 hits compared to Clevland's 4 runs on 11 hits. That's what you call hitting clutch. :notworthy

woah 10 years already...damn love that lineup....and Robbie Nen closing things out..i miss those days

Robb Nen sucked. You always wondered whether he was going to close it out or blow it. Though I agree, that lineup was scary. :mis2

what closer, in marlin history, can we not say that about?

that was up to that point the greatest birthday present i had ever received. what a night, what a great year overall.

to add on, 4 years ago today we beat the yankees in game 1 of the 03 world series.

67K at that game?? Must be wrong. Just ask around. Had to be closer to about 950K.

Had to double check because my tix moved around a bit, shuffling for better seats every year. Season tix from '96-99 were section 130, row 3, seats 1 and 2. Until early in '98 it was better known as Sheff's Field.

To quote Bob Hope..."Thanks for the memories..."

Brian Harvey, Trevor Hoffman (albeit brief), Armando Benitez (in '05), Ugey, would you like me to continue?

Here worked a game in '93 before being traded. Still counts.

I still have this game taped somewhere. Good times!

Suck on that, David Singer! :p

No, it really doesn't. And do you know why? Because he wasn't our closer and your argument is about... closers. He wasn't even here for a full three months.
