Get Red Sox fans. Better yet, get A-Rod. :mischief

Nice way to make money and give douches who live in South Florida and root for the Yankees a chance to see their team.

Home is where the heart is not vice versa. When I retire to stately YF Manor in South Florida, you better believe I'll still be a Yankee fan. And so will my kids. And my grandkids. :mischief

It doesn't work that way.

no youre wrong. thats not the way its designed. if you retire down here, fine, but if your kids grew up here then they should be marlin fans.

my family is from ny too... i was born a mets fan (the thought now makes me want to vomit). my first baseball memory, possibly my first memory ever, was the ball rolling through bill buckner's legs and my family going nuts. but, when i was ten, the marlins came around. my family down here became marlin fans immediately... because THIS IS WHERE WE LIVE!!!!!

home is where the heart is my foot, home is where you live. this is precisely why miami is constantly being considered one of the worst sports markets in the country... because half of the (relatively) recent arrivals still hold loyalties to their old teams. hate to break it to you but the new yorkers who did the right thing and realized that this is our home now really look down on you guys.

1. If your heart is really in NY then why don't you retire there? Too many unhappy Yankees are living here and are miserable to be around.

2. If your grandkids are growing up in Florida, then why would you not want them to be part of the local culture and root for their local team? :thumbdown

then why are you on this board? id assume that there are tons of yankees boards out there for you to cry about losing your best player and manager.

Cry, about what.. we've been blessed for the last 104 years with great teams...

Yea right now it doesn't look good, but, were the yankees, we'll be back....

And as far as why i'm on this board, i live in miami so i root for the Marlins but my #1 team is the Yankees...

Well I wouldn't say 104 years, maybe more like 84-90 years.

I'll probably go because it will be a pretty lively atmosphere and I'll be needing some baseball around that time.

It will be good to see Girardi back in the dugout as well.

It'll be nice to see Cabrera come back and play against his former team as well.

Hey, we do have that in common. I used to be a Mets fan too. Grew up in Corona one train stop away from Willits Point. The thought of it also almost makes me barf. I moved down here and the Marlins took me away. Sorry Mutts. GO FISH!

Melky never played for the Marlins

i agree with Yankeefan. if i ever move to NY ill be damned if i convert to a Jets fan. it wont happen and if my kid comes home with any Jets merchandise i might change the locks on him/her or at least start the process before being talked out of it by the wife. ok im exagerating on that last part but ill be raising the kid as a Dolphins fan/Marlins fan/Heat fan/UM fan.

*i used the Jets as an example because Im not a Yankee hater and I hate the Jets alot more than i hate the mets.
