June 23, 200818 yr http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news/articl...sp&c_id=fla Catching is an area they are exploring, as are relief pitching and center field, especially if Alfredo Amezaga, who tweaked his left groin on Saturday night, is going to be out for a bit. While Matt Treanor has done a terrific job, and Mike Rabelo has shown signs of being productive, there is a concern if Treanor, who has never played as much in the big leagues as he has this season, will hold up. So adding a veteran for a playoff push is something the team is reviewing. An ideal candidate, although he may be a long shot to acquire, is Pudge Rodriguez. If the Tigers get back into the thick of the race, then obviously, he likely won't be moved. Paul Lo Duca, who recently came off the disabled list with Washington, is another possibility. Internally, some pitching help appears on the way. Josh Johnson is recovering nicely from Tommy John surgery, and he could be activated by the All-Star Break. Save the Texas talk for the offseason.

I shan't "save the Texas talk"... It's my right as an American to speculate! Besides, if they pick up Lo Duca, I will physically harm myself

June 23, 200818 yr Frisaro made a typo, it should read Rabelo has shown signs of being counter-productive
June 23, 200818 yr Ugh not Paul Lo Duca. He is one player I do NOT miss. I'd rather have Matt Treanor. As for Texas, Gerald Laird is a veteran catcher.
June 23, 200818 yr Pudge would be wonderful. Gold glove defense so that we dont have more brainfarts behind the plate. And he would do magic to our pitching staff. What sucks is the price tag lol
June 23, 200818 yr Frisaro made a typo, it should read Rabelo has shown signs of being counter-productive :lol :lol :lol That was exactly what I thought....typo on the sportswriter.

June 24, 200818 yr I dont think Pudge is that far-fetched as it seems, at one point Inge was getting more time at Catcher than him. Im not sure if thats still the case but when i think about having pudge back... I cant think of a better fit.
June 24, 200818 yr i donot think this season we will take care catcher issue we got him from tiger for trade so marlins will let him catch rest of season
