July 7, 200818 yr I guess maybe Hendrickson and Tucker head to the bullpen as well. Don't think so. One of them has to go in order to make room for Johnson on the 25 man roster. I think Tucker will go back down to the minors. He might stick around a few more days as an extra arm until Johnson is activated. He's never pitched out of the pen as far as I can see. There is no indication from this front office that they want Tucker as a future closer. Hendrickson will most likely go to the pen and take Tanks place as the second lefty. I guess we'll now more in the next couple of days.
July 7, 200818 yr The calvary has arrived. (Hopefully) The rest of the cavalry is just around the corner (Sanchez and Mitre). In about one month, Fredi will have seven starters available. Assuming they come back in their 2006 form, I predict our rotation will be: 1. Nolasco 2. Johnson 3. Mitre 4. Sanchez 5. Olsen Depending on how they perform, Volstad and A. Miller may be sent to the bullpen or back down to the minors.
July 7, 200818 yr I highly doubt that they send Miller down. I would expect Mitre to pitch out of the pen before they took Miller out of the rotation.

Thursday when JJ gets activated we see Tuck sent down.
July 7, 200818 yr This situation > Brewers picking up Sabathia Now all we need to do is get Anibal ready to go and we're SET.
July 7, 200818 yr I really like the idea of Hendrickson as the setup guy. In his first inning of work this year, he has a .172 BAA.

I have no idea what the FO has in mind or how they visualize his development but I've read opinions of scouts and other professionals who project Tucker's future to be in the bullpen and possibly as a closer.
July 8, 200818 yr Nolasco-Miller-Olsen-JJ-Volstad. :thumbup now things are getting interesting. :mis2
July 8, 200818 yr By the way, while looking at my Marlins calendar, I just noticed tht July is Josh Johnson's month. Coincidence?

Not really surprised about that right now. But if he can master at least one more pitch he would be close to unhittable as a SP. We know he can go the innings and has the attitude for a starter. But right now hitters are able to adjust to his style and thus he can become hittable. He needs some tweaking. And his stay here has shown the coaches (and him) now know what he needs to work on to become a solid SP. Send him to AA and let him get the work in.
July 8, 200818 yr Everything I have been hearing and reading about Josh is encouraging. He said after his last start in the minors that went to 111 pitches that he felt he could have finished the game. Also, he has said he has slimmed down, losing something like 30 pounds since he went on the DL last July.
