He can. The point is that a higher WHIP usually correlates to a higher ERA, which he isn't getting. So in effect, if he's going to keep the ERA down, he will lower his WHIP, and you will both still be right. Unless he somehow manages to keep both at the same level til the end of the season, and then its somewhat of a fluke.

The problem with a guy with a high WHIP is that one AB with 2 men on and one out could be a double play, or it could be a 3 run homer. It's better not to let the guys on at all.

August 11, 200818 yr obviously u do not want the batters on, we are just sayin as long as JJ can work out of jams, there is nothing to worry about, u are sayin sooner rather than later he will have to start giving up runs when he lets guys on base. I say lets wait and see. yes u do not want to let the guys on base but as long as u are getting out of the innings unharmed there is nothing to worry about
