I dont know how many of you have been paying attention to some of the stuff being said but i find it interesting the phils and mets keep doing this every year and that the mest even have the nerve to say they are the team to beat again.

I wish i could find the article of hamals calling the mets choke artists and reyes a show boat. In a way i want Hanley to say something but it be sweeter to surprise every one.

This is a great idea since it totally worked for Carlos Beltran last year :thumbup

The Phillies are the defending champs and so are the team to beat in the entire league, never mind just the NL East

Who the f*** are the Mets?

To steal a line from Eric......fixed.

The H*** w/ all of these predictions. Every year we have a so called "team to beat" and every year they fall flat on their faces. Look at last year's Detroit predictions. And even better, the Yankees have bought that term year after year yet continue to be able to win it. Performance and injuries will tell the tale. I like our team and I like our chances. :hat

The mets even after Putz, have alot of work to do. Team to beat? They replaced Wagner, and now have a set-up man. Their rotation is a mess and the lineup isnt enough to make a big push alone, as of now in the winter.

I think the Marlins are the team to beat.

NO, the PHILLIES are the team to beat.

Simple...they are the defending champs. They've EARNED that title, and will have it, till someone takes it away from them.

Even with all these acquisitions I still don't expect an NL East title for the Mets, there bats as well as their bullpen betrayed them down the stretch the last few years. Also, Minaya is building the World's Most Latin Team.

I think the Marlins are the team to beat.

Yes, they won the world series. But, IMO, we have better pitching and our offense is just as good. And our pitching matches up with any other pitching staff in the NL east. That, imo, is what makes us the team to beat.

Nobody thinks that way, though (btw, the "we have the best pitching" theory is debatable). "The team to beat" should be the team that's EARNED that title. The Phillies won it all last year, and are coming back with A LOT of the same players.

They've EARNED the title of "team to beat." At the end of the day, it's irrelevant...b/c the games are played on the field. However, if any team has the right to say "we're the team to beat" it should be the defending champions.

i know they won the title and should have the right to say they're the team to beat. BUT, right now, IMO, we have the better team on paper. We have, IMO, better pitching which will lead to wins.

Basically, i think we're the favorites because we're the better team on paper, IMO. But you're right, the games are played on the field. So we have to wait till next September.

We are doomed.

I missed you guys. :thumbup
