March 28, 200917 yr Makes sense... I think Ronny is a HUGE upgrade from these two, not to mention the 400K hes making Well, he is HUGE, which is part of the problem with him, but he's a Marlin now, so he's my guy. And yeah I am a homer that way.
March 28, 200917 yr WHATTTTTT!!!!!! This is outrageous. Rabelo is by far the best catcher in baseball. And they send him to AAA?????? (SARCASM for people who have brains)

What do you mean? Is Rabelo really not the best catcher in baseball like the FO lead us to believe last year?

March 29, 200917 yr No surprise that both Rabelo and Hayes got optioned immediately Paulino has a lot of catching up to do so he will be getting the bulk of the work til end if ST (no pun intended)
April 2, 200917 yr Marlins sent catcher Mike Rabelo outright to Triple-A New Orleans. Rabelo has options left, but no one thought he was worthy of a 40-man roster spot. He was in the running to be the Marlins' backup until Ronny Paulino was acquired. ---RotoWorld.com
April 2, 200917 yr I am still flabbergasted as to why we even wanted Rabelo in that trade in the first place.
April 2, 200917 yr It's really funny that the Marlins, with 38 spots on the 40 man roster (including Calero and A. Gonzalez), choose to wave Rabelo rather than just keep him on the 40 man roster. This really speaks of how much they think he sucks.
April 2, 200917 yr You may be right Lou, but I think it suggests the Marlins are creating as much roster space as they can in anticipation of picking up players in the next few days that they hope have value either immediately or at some point in the season.
April 2, 200917 yr Hopefully, one of those players has the name Gary or Frank. Carter or Robinson? :lol
April 2, 200917 yr Hopefully, one of those players has the name Gary or Frank. Carter or Robinson? He means film icon Gary Cooper, who's real first name was Frank. He, of course, played Lou Gehrig in "Pride of the Yankees".
April 3, 200917 yr Hopefully, one of those players has the name Gary or Frank. Carter or Robinson? He means film icon Gary Cooper, who's real first name was Frank. He, of course, played Lou Gehrig in "Pride of the Yankees". Wrong. It was a typo. He meant Frank Gehry, famed architect.

This really speaks of how much they think he sucks. They probably knew the chance of another team actually claiming him was pretty much zero, and wouldnt of cared had he been claimed.

This really speaks of how much they think he sucks. Regardless of what others are saying, when he came here it was said his bat wasn't much but he played good defense. Aside from a little brain fart in one game, which I'm still not convinced was totally his fault, that was proven to be the case. But I was interested in watching Hayes this ST. I really liked his mechanics behind the plate and the way he handled pitchers, especially when they were showing some wildness. I didn't get to see Rabelo play that much this year but I would have to think it was a close competition.
