Posted May 17, 200915 yr my god, this team sucks. we are nothing better then a triple A team. We only have several players which deserve to play pro ball. Ramirez, Cantu, Baker, Johnson....It is time to look at other options. time to get rid of Fredi and the hitting coach. Time to spend some money and bring players in. They are just hoping that on a minor league budget they can compete and win. We need a spark, something to shake things up....Make a deal to Pedro....a big name guy who can add to a pitching staff that already sucks. If that is not an option, trade Ramirez and Uggla for person(s) and let them get mionr leagur talent and let them grow together. If we are going to lose every game why not do it with guys that can learn together. I'm sorry but this is also Fredi's fault....he has to get his guys ready to play...they have to want to win....where is that killer instict and no quit attitude they had at the beginning of the year. Last place here we come. just venting....
May 17, 200915 yr I didnt not read anything you wrote but if you think this team stinks... stop watching them.

He would have to go do some starts in AAA to work his into game shape but its worth it if he comes cheap. Also there has to be an OF out there some where we could get! After watching todays game I wouldnt mind having Juan Pierre leading off for us again!! That's a real lead off hitter! Not the crap we got.
May 17, 200915 yr Well we scored 4 in the ninth, they fought. The problem is the starting pitching sucking.
May 17, 200915 yr The season won't end in May. :thumbup No but we are digging our own grave in may, and right now were 4 feet deep!
May 17, 200915 yr What has Fredi personally done different between the 11-1 start and now? I hate to constantly be defending him, but it is clear to me that suddenly a lot of our pitching and hitting has underperformed and it isn't a motivation thing or a "no quit" thing. It is a teamwide slump. Very little Fredi can do to help that, even with all the motivating speeches.
May 17, 200915 yr lol, I thought somebody just bumped a thread made in 1998, just seemed like this kind of thread should've been made then, or in 2007, not when we are still within 4 games of the division lead in May.

His stuff is there but his mecanics are all screwed up right now... Fredi hasn't come up with 1 solution to whats hurting this team! Not 1!

I don't know, isn't that the hitting and pitching coaches responsibilities? Fredi can ask them to check out certain players, but a manager can't micromanage everything.
May 17, 200915 yr The team doesn't suck, they just dont have a quality 5th starter, the phillies and mets dont but they make up for it with their offense.
May 17, 200915 yr i notice all pitcher in mionr league are not ready to be in big league last two we brought were not ready for big league

If a team plays this bad this long the Manager has to sit down with his hitting coach, and pitching coach, and start trying to figure out a way to get his team past this, and shake things up a bit! I mean bench some guys who arent hitting get some other guys out there! I don't see Fredi doing anything but sitting on his ass! Even Rene Lachman when he was here he was better then Fredi!

Do we know what Fredi is doing behind the scenes? Maybe he is talking to Pressley and Wiley. And he is shaking up the lineup (though some people would like it shaken up more). Plus, we recently called up Coghlan and De Aza. So it seems the FO and Fredi are doing everything in their power to get something going, but ultimately, it is on the players to perform. Fredi can't bench all of Uggla, Ross, and Boni all the time. And look, Uggla and Ross did have some hits in today's game.

May 17, 200915 yr i generally dont have a problem with beinfest but that jacobs deal was just awful. We traded a 30+ home run 90-100 RBI guy for a middle reliever. I dont care how good Leo Nunez is thats a TERRIBLE return. If they didnt want to keep Jacobs, theres no problem with that, but at least get some return for him. We could have gotten some quality young arms for him.

I can't believe someone actually gave up a guy like Leo for a guy like Jake. EDIT: Well, it's not that unbelievable, considering that it was an AL team where he can DH.
May 17, 200915 yr And in sinister53's 11th post on Marlinsbaseball.com he suggests trading Hanley Ramirez.

DUMB, DUMB, DUMB ball player. I don't know if its Pressley's fault or not, but the hitters on this team NEVER make adjustments to different pitchers, despite having completely different pitching styles.

May 17, 200915 yr Author And in sinister53's 11th post on Marlinsbaseball.com he suggests trading Hanley Ramirez. read the friggin post....it is an option if this cheap ass team wants to look to the future and we continue to play sub par baseball and lose. yeah it's my 11th post, but i grew up with the Marlins in Brevard County in 1993 when they were a first year pro team....i guess i'm entitled to my opinion.....so blow me

Let's see, our team will get better by trading our best player??? and you mentioned the cheap ass team, so a way to stop us from being cheap and showing that the ownership cares is by trading our star who we just signed to a 6 year contract? Wow, I feel smarter already. and do you kiss your mother with that mouth (inb4nobutikissyourmotherwithit)?
