May 20, 200915 yr Peter Gammons is playing guitar on BBTN...no amp, but thank you for something to cheer me up. And tonight's loss feels like a new low. It's so hard for us to play a complete baseball game. Cody had a good night, but we should still do something with him. How soon do you think the FO will start to consider trading Uggla/Hermida/Ross?
May 20, 200915 yr I'm tired of this boredom. I want last year's offense again. I called, they said they are currently unavailable, but will try to get back to me come September, when we are already out of contention.
May 20, 200915 yr There was a game today? I didnt notice. j/k JJ looked great through the first 6 innings Offense was pretty meh but Cantu, Cody and Hanley had a good night. Too bad no clutch hits. What else is there to say? WIN? Atleast there is a DOUBLEHEADER tomorrow!! .
May 20, 200915 yr Screw this speed and defense garbage, i want to see guys mash like last year. No really id take any win right now. Also at least cody is hitting and dan did get an rbi hit. Boner killed the a rally with a dp and his error hurt.
May 20, 200915 yr Good pitching - No Offense Bad pitching - Good offense/ the occasional rally killer *cough* bonifacio
May 20, 200915 yr I wish Logan Morrison was healthy because it would nice to see him. Our team is just so dead and tired. Did that ghost suck the life out of this team?
May 20, 200915 yr I don't even think I want to watch the doubleheader tomorrow.......although I probably will.
May 20, 200915 yr Good pitching - No Offense Bad pitching - Good offense/ the occasional rally killer *cough* bonifacio I completely agree with you about the inconsistencies of the different parts of the team. What really bugged me today about the game was that JJ received a loss despite pitching a great game... its sad.
May 20, 200915 yr Blah! What a frustrating game today. JJ pitched great and we still lose-- you gotta feel bad for him. I'm tired of them always making stupid mistakes. :banghead
May 20, 200915 yr Author Did that ghost suck the life out of this team? Not unless it visited them during the Pittsburgh series...
May 20, 200915 yr With my luck we'll probably win the game that I can't watch because I'll be at work and then we'll either get dominated or lose in dramatic fashion in the second game so that I can be even more depressed.
May 20, 200915 yr Also, I know we have nothing to replace him with, but I really hope we don't have CC in LF for much longer. His arm is absolutely horrible. He's barely able to get a ball into the infield grass in the air. I'm really unsure of how Boni's arm rates in comparison but I have to think Boni's is better, and you really do have to wonder why Boni is staying at third (has a lot of experience in the OF and not much at third) and CC is in the OF (has a lot of experience at 3rd but zero in the OF).

Maybe, and I am just throwing it out there and don't really believe it myself, if they move Coghlan to 3rd and Boni to LF on a more regular basis, they would be making Coghlan into a regular, basically. Much easier to "hide" him in the OF, where, when Alfredo comes back, they have a revolving door to play with. Why the would want to give Coghlan an excuse not to play, I don't know. Just a thought, and not a serious one.
May 20, 200915 yr Coghlan has hardly been the "offensive spark" that the team desired when we called him up. Tonight's game is a prime example of why I still don't trust/like Pinto even tho he came in with a 1.something ERA
May 20, 200915 yr Nny, that's right. Okay, a lot of infielders can make the transition to the outfield, now we know CC isn't one of them. Doesn't make him less of an infielder just not an outfielder. I'd sooner see EB in right and Hermida back in left (EB played predominantly RF, and less so center in the DWL), and CC at third than CC in left.

I'm sure they have a reason, but I don't know it, and I just cannot understand why they wouldn't do that (in regards to CC third, boni of). In regards to the bold, wanna make clear cuz now after re-reading my post I realize I worded it horribly, I don't mean I want CC out of the line up, rather just not in LF. I mean, this isn't a issue of where, like, he needs to have X offensive production to outweight it. An OFers arm is, especially a LFer where teams put their worst arm, is, what, like the third most important thing (1-routes 2-speed. Though I suppose 1 should actually be the ability to catch a ball but I'm going to say that's a given for a major league.), and it's a distant third. The issue is that a simple field remix solves the issue. We are not putting our best defense on the field, swap some positions and who knows. Plus imagine having Boni's speed in the OF. Certainly his speed has helped him on some plays at third but a position so limited in range is constricting his speed.
