Gaby Sanchez Thread

Featured Replies

It would be a good idea if Bonifacio didn't suck vs RHP and Gaby didn't suck vs LHP.

Vs RHP: Cantu at third and Sanchez at first

Vs LHP: Bonifacio at third and Cantu at first

That simple. Or we can just send down Bonifacio already and let Coghlan play third base.

That would be setting them up to fail. Bonifacio has historically hit RHP a LOT better than LHP, and Gaby has historically hit LHP a LOT better than RHP.

Is Gaby worse than Boni @ 3rd?

Sanchez in 62 games in AA and 5 games in AAA had 13 errors ,Bonifacio in 52 games has 11 errors .

The reason Gaby switched to 1st despite his low power potential was because he was so terrible defensively at 3B.

the real reason is not .the FO wanted him playing both last year in AA he played almost half and half .and power how about 5HR in 100AB in AAA not bad for a low power potential in my book that's about 30HR in 600ABs

Using a sample of 100 AB's where he's hit 5 HR's, and just using a projection for the next 500 AB's is quite comical. Why don't you do this for his entire minor league career?

Luckily I dont use errors, one of the poorest defensive stats there is, to determine defensive value. Any scout or eyewitness who has ever seen him has noted just how bad his defense is over there.

I know you love Gaby Sanchez and I have no problem with that. All I want is for you to base your opinion of him in reality, something you have never done. Someone like you, who is so...well I cant find anything that doesnt sound hateful, so someone like you who has no idea what they are talking about is not worth arguing with.

they are pretty closed and with power # it's hard to judge because player get stronger what you can judge is ability to hit the ball

I feel the same about you.

I dont know how you could, considering I use logic, history, scouting reports, and statistics to back up my stances and you use...well, none of those things.

I mean, dont you find it the least bit telling that no one has ever agreed with your stance, come to your side in an argument, backed up your arguments, or defended your opinions, ever? Doesnt that seem interesting to you?

that's the problem you use make up you own stats .I use his stats .by the way you want Chris Coghlan playing 3B in 42 games in the minors he has 12 errors .everything I post is with logic, history, scouting reports and statistics that are real.

and with that I'll let you have the last word like you always want to do.

Actually, the basis of your entire argument has always been SALLY league all star nods when he was 22 years old and player of the week awards.

I have also never made up stats, never had to. Gaby Sanchez's low power potential has long been a concern.

And if you really used scouting reports, you wouldnt try to call him a good defensive 3B because anyone who has ever watched him and evaluated him there has come to the same conclusion...he is horrendously bad over there.

The stats I have used are his HR/PA, which is 35. You take 35 divided by 480 AB, which is the average # of ABs for an MLB 1B over a season. You then factor in the hitters environment that is DS. Also add in that he turns 26 this year, and the timeframe for him adding more power is getting small. Of course there is lee way one way or the other, but not a whole lot, and there are variables, such as how he adjusts to DS and how many at bats he gets, but either way this is a discussion that cant be quantified until he becomes the starting 1B, if that happens.

The thing is, Holly asked a question. I answered it, using the general consensus. You were not part of the argument, in any way. I dont know why you felt you had to get involved.

My bad. I thought it was the other way around. I just went by what MrMarlinPride said. But you should know what I mean. Platoon them so Bonifacio doesn't get as many bats as he is getting now and to ease Sanchez into the lineup.

Yea i was going by there stats this season not throughout there careers

Gaby 2-4 with a BB and a HR. Come on FO, this is looking more and more like a no-brainer...............

He needs 1 to 2 weeks more in the minors. Remember he just got off DL.

Gabby just launched a ball for a 3 run homer to give the Z's a 4-0 lead in the 11th.
