September 16, 200916 yr FOX Sports Florida and FOX Sports Ohio will swap color analysts during the third inning of the Marlins @ Reds HD telecast on Friday, September 18. Tommy Hutton will join George Grande in FOX Sports Ohio’s TV booth and Chris Welch will pair up with Rich Waltz in FOX Sports Florida’s broadcast booth for added perspective.
September 16, 200916 yr I wish this was against the Dodgers and we could listen to Vin Scully, but oh well.
September 17, 200916 yr I've always liked when they have done this on the road. I like the different perspective and the inside info on the other team.
September 17, 200916 yr Yeah, this isn't too bad. Now if they would only send Rich over instead...lol
September 17, 200916 yr Just as long as its not John Madden. Rich: High, deep, far, GONE! Madden: Well you see what happened here is is is is the batter the batter swung at a pitch that was to his liking you see and then he he he he hit it out. Rich: Thanks John. *takes swig of booze*

September 18, 200916 yr Author I wish this was against the Dodgers and we could listen to Vin Scully, but oh well. That's why I love living out of the South Florida market and having MLB TV/Extra Innings. I've never listened to Rich and Tommy when the team was in Los Angeles. However, it does get tiring to hear Scully explain what Uggla's name means in Swedish. :lol

And, admit it or not, the guy does know football. The real life kind.

"Interesting Fact" thing when he comes to bat. But that's still better than learning Andrew Miller's favorite hobby is sleeping. What a chick magnet this guy must be.
September 18, 200916 yr Love it! Give those Ohio (reds) Fans HELL TOMMY! Let them know to FEAR THE FISH!
September 18, 200916 yr Mostly comedic value as an announcer. It's called "entertainment." And, admit it or not, the guy does know football. The real life kind. I know this isn't what you were going for, but he sure as hell doesn't know the videogame type. "Yeah, sure John, I'm going for an HB Blast when I'm at the 50 and down by 7 with :45 left."

Actually, it is what I was going for. We were talking about announcers and his name came up. He was an entertaining announcer with tons of real life knowledge about the game. I could care in the least what his video game persona is. Some folks seem to have a real hard time differentiating between the two for all sports. Real life does not mirror video games. Video games attempt to mirror real life, and not so succesfully. For obvious reasons. Video games may be one of the worst products my generation has passed along to the younger generation. But that's another discussion and forum entirely.
September 19, 200916 yr Wouldn't that play actually work in a video game?:lol HB blast means hail mary right? Or half-back blast?

A run between the RG and RT, if i'm not mistaken. The best play in the old days of Madden IMO was the half-back toss sweep. If you had a fast guy like Emmitt you could tear up any defense.
September 19, 200916 yr Ok thanks. Since its my fault this thread went off topic. I'll try to get it back on. Was the other guy as good as Tommy?:shifty
