Curt Petersen, a Marlins minor-leaguer at Single A Greensboro, thwarted a robbey attempt last week, according to the Greensboro (N.C.) News-Record. Petersen, a pitcher, was a fourth-round draft pick for the Marlins in 2008.

"I just went to the Walmart for toilet paper, and then all this happens," Petersen told the newspaper.

LoMo is tearing sh*t up. Can't wait till we call him up.

Same... but no reason to rush him if Gaby is holding his own.

I'm loving RVH's good control in both his starts. Also, it looks like there may yet be hope for Skipworth.

Remember Skip is only 19 but we definetly need him to show us some life this year and so far he is doing it.

I have no idea where we'd put LoMo.

I have no idea where we'd put LoMo.

Only way I could see him making the team (if the team continues this production) is if an injury occurs to Gaby or if Coghlan continues to struggle like this into late May/early June.

Right now, he wouldn't take Gaby's spot, and our entire team is hitting outside of Cogz, so it's just a matter of injuries or poor production in the future.

I have no idea where we'd put LoMo.

It'd be a massive gamble, but if Cantu is still OPS'ing .900+ in, say, late May, and LoMo and Gaby continue to mash (and assuming Coghlan gets back to form), I wonder if we should/could deal Cantu at the height of his value. Realistically, I'd be stunned if he found a way to OPS .850 for the year. The fanbase would probably be angry, but in "video game world" (for lack of a better term), this might indeed be the right move.

Who would take over at third base?

It's to early. Let's see where everyone is around 200 PA and if everyone stays healthy.

Who would take over at third base?

Coghlan. It would drastically improve 3B and LF defense, and then you can have Morrison, Stanton, Petersen, and Cousins fight over LF. It's risking it with prospects versus Cantu who is having an excellent start, but that makes the most sense longterm - to cash Cantu in at the deadline for more than the Type B compensation you will get for him in the offseason. But I doubt any of that happens with the team winning. Don't mess with it if it ain't broken. And really, I doubt you get an OOMPH pitcher for Cantu anyways where it's worth it. A contending team who would want a bat, would want to send us a prospect that won't necessarily help us NOW, which is what we need if we're contending. Plus Cantu is in a walk year.

Morrison is just going to have to mash NOLA and wait for Gaby to slow down. We don't need to clear space for him. Just let him be.

I am envisioning a 2011 with Gaby and Logan, where Morrison starts 80 games at 1B and 40 games in LF, Gaby starts 80 games at 1B, 10 games at DH, and let's say 10 games at 3B and try to wing that, they flip flop in nearly every other game in pinch hitting, double switches, etc., so Morrison is ending up with over 500 PA and Gaby 450 PA, and then a true winner is declared in 2012 if one of them takes off and the other doesn't.

Gotta keep both of them for extended time in AAA/MLB so you pick the right one at who is going to be better for the next 5+ years. This will sort itself out through performance. The trick is getting them each enough playing time to make a smart choice. Right now, that's in MLB and AAA respectively. But at some point, they each may need it on the MLB level if Morrison rakes like this for 3 months.

Marlins cant keep Gabby , Cantu and Logan someone will need to go I believe it will be Cantu he could nab us a nice reliever. I will say if Logan Keeps this pace he will be called up after the All Star game

Cantu should NOT be traded for a reliever, unless there's another piece. Or if he is, I would want it to be a top-line guy. Cantu has too much value to us to trade him for a guy who'll throw 20 IP for us.

The thing that drives me nuts is maybe getting a Tim Alderson-type like the Pirates did for Sanchez. That would tempt me a lot.
