Another day, another streak. The next time Jorge Cantu gets a hit, he will start a new hitting streak. His 21-game hitting streak ended after going 0-for-4 in the second game of a doubleheader against the Rockies on Saturday.

There's also a possible winning streak to consider.

The Rockies and the Marlins split the two games Saturday and will square off in the series finale on Sunday. Chris Volstad is slated to pitch for Florida. Colorado will counter with Jorge De La Rosa.

The Marlins won Game 1 on Saturday, 4-1. The Rockies won the nightcap, 8-1.

As for Volstad, he is returning to a familiar place. The 23-year old Floridian made his MLB debut at Coors Field in July 2008, throwing two innings of scoreless relief. In 2009, Volstad made a start at Coors Field, but lost the game after giving up three runs in six innings.

"There's something about coming to this stadium, it brings something back," Volstad said. "It's cool. I feel like I've grown a lot, experience-wise. I've added a pitch. That's one thing. Just mentally, knowing what to expect."

That said, Volstad is not used to pitching in the cold temperatures of Denver. He's not sure he will ever get used to it.

"I don't think I've ever pitched in this kind of cold, ever," he said. "I heard some hitters talk about what it's like getting jammed. So I'll work inside a lot."

Pitching in Denver, Volstad said, does makes a difference.

"The drier air makes the ball more slick," he said. "It kind of feels like a cue ball. The moist air in Florida, it's more sticky on the ball. You get a better grip. I'll probably be licking my hand a lot. Anything to help get a little better grip on the ball. Plus, with it being cold, it will be dry."

Volstad, who primarily throws a sinker, added a slider to his repertoire this season. He has worked at least six innings in all three of his starts. Overall, he has eight strikeouts and seven walks in 19 innings.

De La Rosa needed 118 pitches to make his way through five-plus innings against the Nationals in his last start. He struck out six, but walked four. He gave up four runs on seven hits to Washington, but was helped when his offense scored eight runs in the third inning.

"It's always good when you get that kind of run support. You pitch more relaxed, and that's what I did [on Tuesday], I think," said De La Rosa.

Why is it that Fredi does the right thing when he puts BC in RF and Cody in CF but always puts BC in LF and Cody in RF?

Mike Stanton is 3 for 3 today with 2 home runs, a double and 4 RBI's.

It's not even Volstad. It's Coors field.

I call BS. Both were well struck. Even if they weren't HRs, they would have been at least doubles. And the Marlins get to hit int he same park and they can't do sh*t. 5 runs in 22 innings = crap
