Good performance by Dominquez too, though I would say we don't need him just yet with Helms and Cantu both having the ability to play third base...

Matt Dominguez sure seems to be swinging the bat really well now!

Yeah, he's adapting. Jim Fleming said that they've always pushed him hard through the system, but that they were leaving him in Double A all of 2010. It should be interesting to see his numbers by the end of the year.

Yup, Matty really got that SLG % up from what it was earlier in the year

I haven't been paying attention- did he hit a double or something?

I haven't been paying attention- did he hit a double or something?

Dominguez has over a 1.000 June OPS with 4 HR, and on the year a .777 OPS with a babip well under .300. As the 2nd youngest player in AA (was fourth then starlin and Stanton called up).

Basically, Dominguez is doing pretty awesome and is arguably the Marlins top prospect now that Stanton is in the bigs. That includes Morrison. I am starting to believe NNY.

The only way he could be a better prospect than Morrison is because he is a third basemen while Morrison has above average offensive potential yet plays a position where not having above average offensive potential makes you irrelevant. Still, I don't think the offensive potential of the two is in the same category until Dominguez can sustain an excellent performance over a long period. His offensive progress is encouraging, and I feel a lot better having seen signs of life from both him and Skippy.

Exactly, because he profiles as an awesome defensive 3B. He doesn't need to hit as much as Morrison, which he won't, to be a plus starter. Position scarcity is huge.

Yeah I severely doubt anyone thinks Dominguez will be on par with Morrison offensively.

I personally woudln't put one above the other though. Morrison's BB/K numbers against rhp the past two years are just jaw dropping.

Low A: Greensboro was off on Wednesday night

The hitting and sp is pretty damn pitiful. Other than Smolinski and Hand, are their any real prospects on that team?

Isn't Chad James on that team?

NVM he's not.

Exactly, because he profiles as an awesome defensive 3B. He doesn't need to hit as much as Morrison, which he won't, to be a plus starter. Position scarcity is huge.

I understand the position concept find, but I feel like the difference in the two prospects is that Dominguez projects as an average MLB player, hitting decently and fielding great, while Logan could develop into a real impact player, a centerpiece guy. That's why I find Morrison the more exciting prospect, although it will take a couple years to figure out if Morrison is more Adrian Gonzalez or just Nick Johnson.

Marinez was dominating there, but he was recently called up to AA. It seems like they don't hit at all, based on the stats.
