They havent had a Marlins game in a while but Im positive the last time was also a weekday game, either Monday or Wednesday. If I'm not mistaken, its a fact that the Marlins have never been on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball in their entire existence. Though I believe that 2006 double header at Yankee Stadium where Anibal debuted had one of the games on ESPN.

I remember the Cardinals-Marlins in 2005 on a Wednesday was on ESPN. It was a blowout for the Cardinals until Hermida hit a grand slam in his first AB. That was the last time I remember, but... like was said above, I seem to now have this vague memory of Anibal Sanchez pitching in Yankee stadium in 2006 to be on ESPN. I remember seeing the game, but I'm not definite on the channel.

Who is doing the commentating on the game tonight? Let me guess... we get someone like Chris Singleton, right? :(

Its a damn shame too. I think we may be the ONLY team that has happened to. I can remember seeing Kansas City & Pittsburgh on Sunday's at least once. Has ESPN ever given a reason ? I mean if its they don't want to show an empty stadium, that is no excuse as we play half our game on the road. Why have they not found one Sunday night that a Marlins vs NY Mets, or vs Philadelphia, or vs Atlanta could have been found ? In like 18 years ?????

Oh, wow, you're right... I don't even remember that game at all.

-----------------------

September 18th 2005:

In the span of a day, the Marlins rebounded from a gut-wrenching defeat to pound out a 14-6 win over the Phillies on Sunday night in front of 25,208 at Dolphins Stadium and a national ESPN2 audience.

Rebounding from the disheartening, 10-2 loss on Saturday, when they gave up 10 runs in the ninth inning, the Marlins enjoyed their highest run total since beating the Giants 16-4 at San Francisco on July 23.

More important, the Marlins kept pace with the Astros, remaining 2 1/2 games back in the National League Wild Card race with 12 games to go. Florida is a game behind Philadelphia.

Though not at his best, Josh Beckett (15-8) had enough to work six innings, giving up two runs on five hits while walking four and striking out five. Jeff Conine went 3-for-3 with three walks, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Miguel Cabrera drove in four runs with a two-run double and two-run single in the Marlins' 16-hit attack.

That 2005 Marlins team still pisses me off, they were so good on paper and everyone was tipping them for the division. I even remember an interview with John Smoltz where he said he felt the Marlins were the best in the division. Didn't turn out that way, did it? Such is life and such is Baseball.

I remember they had one game on ESPN late in the year last season, and that was more seeing if the Phillies could wrap up the division more than anything else. Too bad I'm going to be stuck at work and while work has cable (It'd be weird if a TV station didn't), asking fellow employees to turn on a Marlins game in the middle of Nebraska is like asking a room full of Manchester United fans if they'd like to go see the new Twilight movie.

I miss Boog.

Me too, it will be great to hear him tonight.

Yeah, me too. I still wish he would've called the last out of the '03 World Series. Len Casper called it like it was the last out of regular season game.

Maybe Dave O'Brien will be calling the game with him. Although that would go against the format of 1 analyst and one commentator.
