Admin
Not sure if it's been mentioned but the team has banned pieing celebrations now. Update: The pie ban has been lifted

Admin
What's the reason? Coghlan tore his MCL when he pied Wes on Sunday.
Hammerhead
http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100726&content_id=12663932&vkey=news_fla&fext=.jsp&c_id=fla There have been some strange ass injuries during celebrations this year. dim
At least this injury isn't as bad as Lato's injury of trying to hold back a sneeze.
dom2613
You'd think with Wes being the vet leader on the team he would have showed Cogs the correct way to pie some one with out getting injured.
jmp
How about we have the bat boy pie people?
enterthemadness
What's the reason? Coghlan tore his MCL when he pied Wes on Sunday. What.....how....I'm sorry, but if he got his injury from pieing Wes...he deserves it. That's like the NFL player breaking his hand while answering a phone A f***ING PHONE. Hate me all you want, but if you injure yourself while doing something that should be easy, it goes on you. That being said, I love you Cogs and get better. Unban this now. It was a fluke accident. enterthemadness
How about we have the bat boy pie people? Oh Lordy Lord, we can't risk the bat boy hurting himself. Who will replace him?

Rabbethan
HAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA! Oh man. Come on Fish, there was obviously something wrong with his knee that made it so vulnerable. No more pies... heh...
Admin
If people didn't resist taking the pie to the face, there would be no problem outside of the occasional burning of the eyes.
Henry Jones
Me thinks more taking care of business and not having it come down to the last at bat would solve the problem than banning the celebrations when they do.

Which is why whip they need to take it like men or switch to whipped cream or something...

MVETOY
Did a player broke his leg after a walkoff homerun and the team pile on at home plate.
alejandrasnow
Did a player broke his leg after a walkoff homerun and the team pile on at home plate. Kendry Morales. http://sports.espn.g...tory?id=5232642 There was a video on youtube but it was removed. I'll see if I can find it. http://losangeles.angels.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=8478677 There it is!
Jags28
I hate how teams pass these things in the heat of the moment due to a freak accident. Oh well, time to start up a new tradition I suppose, maybe they can gently tap each other on the shoulder.
Hotcorner
just switch to using whipped cream, who's going to dodge that?? mmmmm!
Hammerhead
He said he landed on it wrong when he "jumped". He didn't jump at all. He barely even hopped. If that injured it, it must've been in pretty bad shape beforehand. Silly to ban pies but whatever.
Admin
just switch to using whipped cream, who's going to dodge that?? mmmmm! I'd pie myself in that case.
HitDaCycle
Ugh, ok ban pies...fine...then you must also ban when players rush at each other and jump up and down after a walkoff celebration as well. Because, as mentioned, there have been players that got hurt that way as well. And you know those crazy handshaking they do in the dugout sometimes? Well you better ban those too, you never know when someone might poke an eye out! Geesh
