We'll find out in a few hours if we get a UM vs ND Sun Bowl match up. That would probably be the only bowl game involving UM that would be worth watching. One projection had them playing Temple.

Another had them playing Boise. I hope that happens. ND would be good too.

Boise would destroy us...

Boise is overrated.

They did beat Virginia Tech, who aside from a ridiculous fluke against JMU (no offense Dodge), mowed down everyone else they played, including UM.

UM mowed themselves down. If not for the turnovers they probably win that game.

Looks like Iowa-Nebraska in the Insight Bowl.. about the only matchup that I would look forward to end this crap season. Starts the rivalry off a year early. Hopefully this is the matchup - edit - iowa vs missouri.. yep, dont care

Also, these projected BCS matchups look like crap, other than the NC game.

Sounds like

UCF-Georgia at the Liberty Bowl?

And UCF is now BCS RANKED!

#25!

FSU-South Carolina in the Peach Bowl. That won't be easy.

And LOL at the UCF fans in this thread. They're acting like they just lost their virginity.

Looks like New Year's Eve and Day will be the best days for bowl games besides the night of the NC.

Really looking forward to the matchup with Spurrier, although I think we're gonna get killed.

Yeah, okay, sorry we're happy for our school. You know, first national ranking in school history? As in... our opportunity to get in on the big stage in the Big East, and make a real name for our school?

But if you're gonna act that way:

UCF 10-3

FSU 9-4

lol... there is an investigation under way about the flyover of some military jets prior to the iowa-OSU game. apparently, it was too low.

check out the video..

Awww. I was half-expecting the jets to swoop into the stadium. That's not SO bad

Uhh... that is extremely low.

Not. Low. Enough

Low enough for me to question why they were within 50-100 feet of the high point on the screen. They really cant get much lower without physically damaging part of the stadium.

HOLY CRAP THAT'S RIDICULOUSLY LOW.

Oh sh*t, that was low. I mean, really really low.

Also, congrats to UCF. You might be considered a minor school in the state, but you're ranked, UM and UF aren't. (Even though that says more about the BCS than UCF. That has to be the weakest schedule of any BCS ranked team.)

Well, actually Rab, they got 0 points based on the computer. It was the AP and the USA today voting that put them in the BCS (although if you're referring to the fact that the BCS is silly because it offers the voting, very well then)

Anyways, the case is for UCF to get into the Big East. That ranking is going to help out a ton.

It was more about the entire system. They shouldn't be there at all, it doesn't matter how they got in.

Also, I agree with that. UCF has completely outgrown C-USA.

I didn't mean it like that. I'll be acting the same way if the Panthers ever make the playoffs again. And I'm a UM fan not FSU.

How's this for a solution to the BCS

Add Boise State and BYU to the Big 12. Add ND and UCF to Big East.

Then the PAC 10, Big 10, Big 12, ACC, SEC and Big East would all have championship games.

Take the 6 winners and then the next two teams with the highest BCS rankings.

Have those 8 teams play in the traditional bowl games: Fiesta, Orange, Sugar and Rose.

The matchups could be determined by either:

A) Have bowl match ups predetermined. For example Pac 10 vs Big 10 in the Rose, SEC vs at Large in the Sugar, ACC vs Big East in the Orange, etc...

B) Rotation. ACC plays SEC in Sugar one year, then SEC plays Pac 10 in Fiesta the next, etc...

C) Random drawing. In the champions league they randomly match up teams. I think this would be the most interesting option that creates the most excitement and controversy. For example, Wisconsin might draw Auburn in the Rose Bowl or Virigina Tech.

The four bowl games are played out. Once all the games are played, then the two top teams would play in the championship game. This format would give most of the 8 teams a chance to play for the title and make fans want to watch ALL of the BCS games because the result would impact the championship game. This method does not change the regular season or bowl system.

Can anyone come up with a better method than this that does not alter the regular season?

I like my plan better. In my plan it's an even playing field for every team to make it to the championship and every game counts. In your plan the BCS conference teams have an unfair advantage. In your plan the non-conference games also lose importance. A BCS conference team can go 0-4 in their non-conference games and win their conference and qualify for the playoffs. That wouldn't be a good thing. In your plan Conn would make the playoffs this year and that's not a good thing either.
