CG Shutout by Vols (yes, I'm serious)

Grand Slam from Brad Davis.

Has to be Volstad, when was our last CG?

Why can't Volstad pitch like this more often? Serious question.

Bingo.

Once again, worth mentioning it was the quickest game in Marlins history at 1:56 1:52.

Buehrle-esque

It's actually 1:52. That's amazing.

Volstad doesn't suck!

I voted for Ozzie Guillen!

Oye Oye Oye...

I was at the game and I have to admit the game was going so fast I didn't even notice Volstud had a shutout going on til the 7th.

He had everything working for him today, live fastball, sharp slider, good changeup and his curve got Pujols to wiff twice.

I hope he can finish out the season like this and either become good trade bait for next year or can continue his success on a consistent basis and be our number 4 or 5.

Also, i think it should be noted that there was a surpassingly big crowd at the stadium today for a 3:10 Game on a Monday!

They said they had sold 12,000 tickets but it looks like there was as solid 8 to 9 thousand there

Didn't see the game so wondering what was different about Volstad today? Attacking hitters? Good pitch selection? Ground balls or fly balls?

He was definitely challenging hitters even Pujols and Holliday with 1st pitch fastballs on the inside and outside corners but other then that all of his offspeed pitches were on. 2 Seam/Sinker mixed with Changeups and Sliders kept the hitters off balance beating balls into the ground, then if he needed to he broke off about 5 or 6 nasty 12-6 Curves to get outs and one even K'd Pujols.

His educed a sh*t load of grounders and the only balls I remember that were hit hard were the Holliday Double of the wall in the 1st, Molina double in the 9th and a Pujols lineout to Uggla.

Because he's only 23 and still learning and getting experience. Serious answer

Ok, I thought this was just a joke -- having missed this game. Wow is all I can say. Perhaps Volstad just can't pitch when he's on tv?? Radio-only games for everytime Volstad pitches for now on!! Ok not really

How about the GS from Davis? That man really wants to be our backup next year

holy hell... well thataboy chris. good for him

Just upset I missed it. I watch the horrible games and miss the good ones..figures. But awesome that Davis hit a GS!

Wow, good job, Volstad.

Amazed!

I don't think anybody else got that.:shifty

And LoMo extended his on-base streak, 1 for 3 with a walk. OBP now .428.
