Schnellders
While obviously 100% accidental, if I'm Brian McCann, I couldn't focus on playing baseball after this. So I expect him to play poorly for an extended period of time.

So I expect him to play poorly for an extended period of time. I have to think there will be some kind of psychological issues that follow. Even though it isn't his fault, you don't just forget that it happened.
Entendu
Didn't Hermida basically cause brain damage to a kid at a Phillies game?
I Love Me Some Fish
Didn't Hermida basically cause brain damage to a kid at a Phillies game? Yeah, just another blurb to his prolific career.
alejandrasnow
Didn't Hermida basically cause brain damage to a kid at a Phillies game? I know he hit the kid in the face (orbital bone specifically) but I don't know if it caused brain damage.
gizmo
That sucks. I feel bad for both him and McCann
Fishes on the Pond
Didn't Hermida basically cause brain damage to a kid at a Phillies game? I know he hit the kid in the face (orbital bone specifically) but I don't know if it caused brain damage. I hadn't heard about the brain damage either. Makes you wonder how close you want to be to the action.
canada-marlin24
yea very sad sometimes i see those balls go into the stands are its scary. i prefer right along one of the base lines not farther than the base itself. majority of balls hit there are popups. BosnianBaller_
i thought he was struck by a nate mclouth foul ball because they interviewed mclouth today during the game against the red sox and said that mclouth drove to the hospital to see salazar after the incident. Sirspud
I was scared that something like this, or even worse, had happened to Logan Morrison last year. I've read about these things happening but when I saw that happen on TV it was incredibly disturbing and emotional. All I could imagine was some kid fresh into the big leagues, dad dying of cancer watching from the stands, having his career be over. Thank God that wasn't the case. Hammerhead
Wow. Any videos surface? Not of the actual play but there's one of him getting loaded into the ambulance. And some news coverage.
