trahernsfriend
Buente (1-0) allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out four in running his consecutive scoreless inning streak to 14, dating to the fifth inning iof his April 23 start at Albuquerque. Buente lowered his ERA to a Pacific Coast League-leading 1.35. KID IS ON FIRE RIGHT NOW!
I Love Me Some Fish
He didn't look too terrible in a short stint with the Marlins last year. He seems to have good stuff.
mystikol87
Nice. I mentioned in a thread the other day how we have 4 or so guys just killing it in relief in AAA right now.

Hotcorner
I didn't realize he was starting games down there, interesting. I think he'd always been a reliever in the minors.
CyggyMarlin
Give someone a start over Vazquez / Volstad soon
Eddie Altamonte
Buente is our organization's top starter right now he should be considered for a callup soon

mystikol87
He's really been extremely impressive. ~.7 WHIP as a starter. 32 K in 33 IP, just 6 walks. Batter are .163 against him for the year, and .162 as a starter. Did he add a pitch? Why did they convert him to starter? I'd really like a story about this, but I can't find anything. MarlinsLou
They shouldn't mess with him and have him start the entire year. No call ups, no extra pressure. See if it works out. He's not making or breaking the 2011 season.
trahernsfriend
He became a starter April 23rd. He had a rough outing yesterday but still has been by far the most consistent starter for the Z's.
trahernsfriend
This guy was unhittable in AAA and only lasts 3 innings in todays start. Is there really that much difference between AAA and the bigs?
