Wild card races

Featured Replies

The way the AL and NL wild card races are shaping up only solidifies my opposition to the expanded postseason (2nd wild card spot) being proposed.

Under that system, the Rays, Red Sox, Braves, and Cardinals would all make the playoffs and you wouldn't have this exciting final stretch over the last 2 weeks of the season. There is enough excitement as it is; it's ridiculous to neglect 162 games and determine playoff seeds based off a one-game playoff series.

For example, let's assume that the Rays edge out the Red Sox over the remaining two games and end with a one game lead in the wild card. That means that over the course of 162 games, they would have bested the Red Sox by one game. Why then, should the Red Sox be given a "second chance" by allowing them to play against the Rays in a one-game series? It's so stupid.

Has there been a worse player who has hit bigger homeruns than Dan Johnson?

Jeremy Hermida.

I don't recall that piece of crap hitting big homeruns.

But he did hit some homeruns and he was a terrible player, so I guess he counts.
