June 13, 201214 yr Solano is a beast, but seriously 6 hits? Great to see JJ continuing to look better and better every start. Hanley is unimpressive again, wish he would just return to and stay superstar but the more his career goes on the less I feel thats going to happen. Heath Bell with 3 K's I'll take it. A win's a win and you gotta start somewhere but don't expect us to win our next 6 still lacking in hits. AND STOP f***ING STARTING COGHLAN GOD DAMN IT OZZIE HE SUCKS!!!!!!!!! BADDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!! Solano shouldn't be labeled a beast at this point. But he won't K alot and he makes contact. Plus he is very athletic. I saw a quote from Ozzie saying he could most likely play any position comfortably. Gotta wonder if they are giving him some CF time during practices, or if we will only see him in very limited spot starts. Looks like it will be about another month before Boni is back. JJ does seem to be getting back to form. People had to know it was going to take some time. Once his fastball gets up to speed, his other pitches will work off that better. But I can understand why alot were getting a bit impatient. "Ace" label has it's expectations and downfalls.

Bonifacio used to be absolutely hated here. People swore he'd never be good and should be sent down and forgotten, citing some analysis they probably got off a website and have no real knowledge of - and now those people have shut the f*** up. Chris Coghlan was god, and when he started blowing balls out there, everyone gave him the benefit of the doubt for a year before realizing he had only ever had one hot streak - and now he's despised on here. I'm not saying to go ape-sh*t every time a player gets called up and has a good week, but don't pretend you're 110% certain their career is going to follow some sort of a pattern either. That's just as much bulls***.

June 13, 201214 yr It's not about consensus or whatever. A guy who has a .600 minor league OPS is EXTREMELY unlikely to have randomly "figured it out" the moment he got called up to the big leagues to the point where he is a good hitter. And plenty of people, here or elsewhere, were wary of Coghlan's BABIP his rookie year.
June 13, 201214 yr I've been arguing against people for a long time now about Coghlan's BABIP and fluke-y rookie year. I don't always get everything right, but I'm at least supporting my opinions based on the numbers. People told me before the season that they had "faith" in Coghlan turning it around and paid no attention to the stats or any logically constituted reasoning. If you are going to critique any sort of tendencies, I'd look toward those people who operate on hunches and perceived biases. Those people have nothing to back up what they say.
