May 8, 201412 yr He's fast becoming considered maybe the most likeable guy in all of baseball. Seriously. They need to get on that NOW. I would couple that with a Yelich extension to help buffer the expected Stanton trade. Yelich is a safe bet to be a good long term starter.

However, Hanley has given the Doyers over 6 WAR production at a position where we have trotted out a seriously below replacement level player for the last 2 years. So if you judge it that way, even if the Doyers don't resign him (they will) it will be very hard for us to "win" that trade from a production standpoint even with Eovaldi pitching so well. Also, what Lou said about not reinvesting.

I know that of course (see previous posts about loving Eovaldi and my predictions for him to start the year) but pitching WAR is different than an every day player's WAR. I guess my point is you can't really evaluate the trade without factoring the abysmal production we've got from the SS position since Hanley left. To conclude, I'm fine with the trade and was at the time as well.

May 10, 201412 yr Neither for me- He just generally just an all around asshole to anyone he came in contact with- who believed he ate crap and pissed out gold. He was given alot of slack by the front office, especially after the Freddi incident. Fuck him.
