Speculation on The Ticket This Morning

Recommended Posts

Coming into work this morning the two were discussing the Marlins and their "season" on 790/104.3 The Ticket. In the conversation it was mentioned the radio station had received an email stating that neither Beinfest nor Hill will be on the 7:30 AM Front Office program. Also stated "hopefully one will be on later in the week".

The two commentators mentioned the game at 4:10 this afternoon and speculated whether the "firings" occur after the game or whether it will be "Black Thursday".

Names mentioned on the chopping block was obviously Beinfest and Hill because they would be unavailable this morning as well as hitting coach Eduardo Perez. And everyone's favorite Ozzie Guillen.

So I wondered what others thought of this no-show, when it will happpen, and to whom it will happen.

Will Marlins Nation be :wee or :swoon

Or perhaps they declined the interview because they knew the topic would come up and didnt feel like subjecting themselves to that line of questioning.

I remember a couple of weeks ago Beinfest was on there and they brought up the topic of his job security, so I doubt that's the case.

There is some noise about demoting Hill and Beinfest (it appears Samson's family is REALLY tight with Beinfest's family), but I would think that keeping the same people there may not change the culture enough. Unfortunately I think it means bye bye and bring new people in without FO staff possibly asking questions/getting feedback/hearing discussions of the past regime.

Incoherent post of the year.

Not to mention lacking any links about supposed "noise" and "tightness." Do you work for the FO?

Here's some "tightness." Samson was Loria's step-son, the son of Loria's now-ex-wife, but essentially the son Loria never had. He's been Loria's right-hand man since 1999. Some may think him obnoxious, but he holds a degree in economics from the U of Wisconsin and a JD from the Cardozo School of Law. He ain't no slouch and Loria probably thinks, justifiably, that he's the best thing that came along with his previous marriage.

At the very least, Samson can string together a coherent sentence now and then.

All your posts give me the feeling you work for the FO.

No, I don't work for the front office. The source was the morning show at 790TheTicket. Between 7:30 and 8:00 AM actually.

All true. Which qualifies him to have the next-to-final say in the business end of running this company. Absolutely nothing more. Including comments to the press. One reason season ticket sales will drop next season is because of comments he has made. Such as, to paraphrase, "We don't care if Broward and Palm Beach County fans only come to 5 games a year. We are going for the South Dade fan base and the business community." You don't crap on any customer base and then expect them to wipe your butt afterwards.

I agree. They obviously went after Dade fans and the business community, but there's absolutely no reason to say anything about it for public consumption.

I have no idea why he says stupid stuff like that.

Some fans have the same feeling, i made a comment about the FO and cancel my season tickets and was told to stay in Boca and go to games there, and you wonder why attendence is so low.
