I just cant understand that. These new jerseys and especially the logos are an embarrassment.

So is a team that counts teal among it's main colors and refuses to use it, aside from the sliver of "Blue/Green" it became in the last few years as an outline.

The team needed an update with color, and we got it. The logos could have been better, the colors a bit more traditional but at the same time I'm happy with what came out.

I don't like the logo either, but it's not an embarrassment. Our hats are very popular.

Our look has really grown on me to the point where I absolutely love it now. I think "traditional" colors were never an option given how young the franchise is. Plus there are way too many teams doing the traditional look so it's nice to see something a bit different.

I agree with your point, but by traditional I mean more Teal, Black, Silver and use the teal more.

By replacing the already dead teal with that beautiful blue, and that complementing the black and silver with vibrant orange and some yellow it really popped. Even the Alternate black looks so much better than the last uniform sets black.

My wish is they wear the orange alt and orange cap this season much more than they did last- maybe even make the orange cap the default home cap and the black the road.

Our Uniforms/Colors are an embarrassment. Those of you that say they look are blinded by your love for the team. I have hope as well that they will go back to black and teal when a new owner buys this team. The one poster said it best when he said all that should have been done was replace the F on the hat with an M.

I live in Orlando, and coach baseball in high school and little league. Not one of my players in high school like the Logo or colors. They hate it. Almost all say the Marlins use to have the best uniforms in baseball.. not anymore. Even a minor league player that plays for the Marlins comes back to work out and I ask him. He says NO player in the Organization likes the uniforms and colors. NONE.

In little league, we get to pick which MLB team uniforms we want to use. The Marlins were dead last. It was a running joke that nobody wanted the rainbow colored stuff.

So yes, the uniforms and colors are an embarrassment. The only people that like them, are a few people on this forum that actually like the Marlins. But from the outside, I've never met anyone that likes them. Its sad.

The new stuff is awesome.

It's not a rainbow.

The new stuff sold extremely well so i guess those few people here bought thousands of items each.

I have new Marlins gear in spite of it being terrible.

Including a Mark Buehrle shirt that I think I should be refunded on.

The ratings for the Marlins new gear is pretty putrid across the board on Chris Creamer's site.

Fair enough, I'm sure some people bought it just because they wanted to have the new gear. But, I'm willing to bet more people than "just a few members of this forum" like the new stuff.

Not bashing your opinion, but a lot of the people on the creamer site are joke. I frequent the site and post but most people on that bitch and moan about the dumbest things and can't make up there mind. One moment they want all teams to look traditional and then the next they want something new. When the team does something new, it all of a sudden sucks and they want the team to go retro. Everything must be retro. It's alright if the old team had bright colors in the retro colors,( Edmonton oilers are a good example) but if a team try's something new with bright colors its stupid and ugly.

Sports uniforms would look a lot less interesting and a lot more boring if those guys had their way.

On my opinion, I like the uniforms even though I liked the old identity better. Like piazza said, marlins need to embrace the orange more, mostly the hates. The orange hat at home was an awesome look.

To many people, players included, take the game of baseball way to serious on something's. Yes it is a money making venture and has to be taken seriously in a good amount if aspects, but nobody worth a damn isn't going to refuse going to a marlins game because the uniforms are "horrible" or the homerun statue "sucks". They are meant to be fun. When I came down last year I saw tons and tons of bright orange hats and plenty of people loving the sculpture. If players don't like wearing orange or teal they can shove their million dollar salaries up their asses. I. Would wear a. Damn tootoo and a pink jersey if I made entry level salary playing a game like baseball and bring gifted with the talents I would possess.

Are their things I don't like about the uniforms, yes. I'm not a fan of the black M but love the white one. I don't like the black hats at home, I wish they used less black and Orange as a combo and focused on the colors blue yellow and orange.

Alas people that call the logo a "rainbow" loss all credibility. Sorry, but 3 out of the 7 colors in rainbow does not constitute a rainbow.

I wasnt going by the user comments, but the actual ratings they are given.

I hear ya, but those same people are giving the ratings.

See I would rather them get rid of the orange altogether.

In a few years, it wouldn't surprise me to see a shift towards blue, especially alt wise.

If the home black and white bp hat isn't an indication of what's to come in next years Bp jerseys redesign, I don't know what is. The Bp hat matches nothing on the home jersey or current bp jersey color wise other than having the same m logo on the home jersey. It just seems completely random especially the old school front panel with a new school identity.

Or, GASP! People outside of your high school might have different opinions and taste. Miind-blowing thought, I know.

Any new merchandise will have an initial spike in sales. People like purchasing what's 'current'. That is the difference between style and fashion. Style is timeless, fashion is here today and gone tomorrow. I suffered the same thing when LSU (my alma mater) changed their logo in the early 2000's from the classic old school tiger head to the 'new and improved cartoon tiger' that has all of the ferocity of a kitten playing with a ball of yarn. Everyone I know hates this logo, but the school keeps saying sales are at an alltime high...well so is LSU's football success and national brand (coincidence? i think not). I, along with most people I know, refuse to purchase merchandise with the new LSU logo. In fact, a local shop is making a killing by being the only place in town where you can buy LSU stuff with the old logos. I know you guys could care less about LSU, just wanted to add some perspecitve. As time goes on, Miami will have one of the lowest merchandise sales in the league...unless they start winning.

I didn't wanna bring up an old topic for this, and with people complaining again about the uniforms and other things like the HR sculpture... did anyone notice Matt Vasgersian's ignorance towards the sculpture in last nights WBC game?

He kept asking why the sculpture was "up" and kept saying he thought it only "comes up" after a Marlins HR. He said "maybe they're leaving it up for the wbc games" or "maybe its just broken." Apparently he thought it was something hidden under the "water" that rises like Shea Stadium's apple. He even asked Samson on the air why it was up, Samson didn't realize what he was asking so he just said it goes ON for every Marlins home run but for the WBC it will go ON for every HR. Nobody bothered to correct Vasgersian? The ballpark has been open for a year, he never once saw a clip of Marlins Park and never once realized it is constantly "up"? He's an MLB broadcaster who completely missed that for a full year? I was bothered by that ignorance.

Also, he was complaining that Joe Torre is next to Babe Ruth in the bobblehead museum and said it made no sense. How hard was it to realize the bobbleheads are organized by team and then in alphabetical order? What an idiot.

Actually, now that I think of it, in the games at Chase Field he made a comment that the Diamondbacks have changed the place to be totally in their Sedona Red and have abolished all signs of the Teal and Purple of the past... to which the cameras all immedietaly zoomed in on all the division banners and 2001 Series Champs banner which are loaded with teal and purple.
