May 9, 201412 yr I'm not making fun of high school. I'm making the point you missed my point clearly. Now, go back and actually learn analogies. I'm going to focus on this win. Done with this dead horse. Thanks. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk You're the one who had a fit about my rather innocuous comment. You're the one to blame for sidetracking the thread in the end.
May 9, 201412 yr you both are missing the point It's okay to enjoy the moment and admit that the "point" made no sense. For what it's worth, it's also okay to enjoy the moment and not enjoy the fact that our star player still hasn't been locked up to a long-term contract as most other teams would've done already. I'm not sure what the big deal is.

I should have never given you the recognition you don't deserve. Your pessimistic comments require no response just pity. Though, I should point out, you found it necessary to engage me affording you just as much blame. Sad Johnny, so sad. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
May 9, 201412 yr For once, can you just keep it positive? Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk Lmao, I was thinking the same thing. Damn this dudes life must suck if that is his thought process.

I'm not sure what the big deal is. the point did make sense though, you just took the words too literally. No, they don't all mean the exact same thing, however in all three cases there is a similarity, in this case that time and focus is being directed to beating a dead horse. The big deal here is the negative subject was brought up in an otherwise positive thread that had very little to do with the subject at hand. It's perfectly fine to be down about the subject, I don't think penguino is alone in his frustrations with our FO, but there is a time, place, and frequency for those discussions (ie, not every other thread).
May 9, 201412 yr Things could certainly be a lot worse -- one year ago today (5-8) they were 10-25 and in last place 11 behind ATL. Win 20 didn't happen until 6-14 in game 66. Ugh. Discussions like many on this board remind me of markets -- which are exactly like baseball seasons in that they never go in a straight line. When any market makes a bottom, bearishness is at its maximum. Months or even years after a market turns up and continues up (always irregularly with frequent corrections, just like baseball) there are always an incredible number of people who are convinced that the nascent new trend will end imminently. This, that and a dozen other things are a big problem. Other people who don't see or agree with that are said to have their heads in the sand. Reversion to the mean must occur soon. Always worried about something. Or 10 things. Which usually prevents them from profiting. Many of them wind up broke because they were contrarian short-sellers all the way up. Unless you're betting on a team (or an owner) "profit" in baseball equals fun and enjoyment. These guys have been fun to watch from day one of this season and remain so. I suspect that this may be true for the next few years. Don't go psychologically broke baseball-wise. Go with the trend. Enjoy it, teams with potential like this one has don't happen that often.
May 9, 201412 yr Hey, Marlins pitchers have allowed 1 run in the past 32 innings. Turner was tightroping for a while but managed to hang in there. Sorry did I post about the game there? My bad!
May 9, 201412 yr Hey guys our hitting is regressing pretty hard the last couple games but we still won em! yeeeha!
May 9, 201412 yr I just saw the video of stanton's hr. How did that go out? Its like a bird carried the ball just over the fence... Oh and watching Stanton trying to hold back a big ass grin rounding third is something we never saw last season. I hope these guys stay happy through the regression. He couldn't hold back that smile. I don't think I'd ever seen that from him. Dietrich may have scored from first on that if it doesn't go over, but it's probably close. Great win.
May 9, 201412 yr It's possible to be happy when this team is playing well and not think they will win 90 games. :mischief2
