The Marlins just signed Brad Penny.

If the shit we're throwing at the fan has yet to stick, why keep getting our hands dirty?

Arrieta is pretty good and have you seen our lineup?

Yes, but all six games against them this year they've beenquite solid, their offense has shown up, their pitching has been great both starting and bullpen. Regardless of our lineup they haven't been easy at all. Just my observations .

They've played pretty well over their last 30 games or so. + we've faced their three best starters in both series.

Eovaldi still has no true out pitch for left-handed hitters. It's still his biggest problem.

Like I said, Eovaldi is a long way from becoming a top starter. The kid is a two pitch pitcher. Constantly throws fastballs down the middle and no matter how hard he throws, these days guys are sitting on it and driving the ball. Whoever thought this kid could ever replace Jose must have been smoking something really good.

Did anybody ever say that?

Let's face it, this guy is no ace. Until he develops at least one more pitch he's just a hard thrower that hitters eventually catch up to.

No. but he might be thinking of people saying Eovaldi is our #1 with Jose out...which is more or less true.

NOBODY EVER CALLED HIM AN ACE!

They're sitting on the fastballs because he can't locate his slider today. That's the difference between now and earlier in the year. When that slider works, so does the fastball whether it's down the middle or not.
