Actually, Yes, Josh Rodriguez is playing 2B

Yea, looks like Deets was scratched from the lineup. Probably already at the airport...

Or we can finally seize the opportunity and move forward.

that'd be nice, but staying above .500 for when the trade deadline comes around is all that matters.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jones traded. He seems like a cool guy but his offense is inconsistent and his defense is sub par. There is something about Bour that I like, I wouldn't mind seeing him get a full time spot at least as a pilot experiment.

I am happy to see Detrich back. Once Yelich is back as well we have a pretty solid line up again.

The something I like about Bour is everything he did in NO...

I think we are getting exactly what I expected from Jones on offense. But I did not know he was so bad at first. If you field like Jones does, you better hit like Miggy. Looking at Bour's career minor numbers, he prob hit better than Jones right now. Don't get why we gave Jones a two year deal.

So far in the majors, Marisnick has been a mixed bag as well. On the one hand, he is hitting .294 with a passable .333 OBP. On the other hand, those have all come on singles, and he has also struck out six times in 18 plate appearances. The plate discipline remains a major concern and is still his primary barrier to success in the big leagues. He did not resolve that problem in Triple-A, even as he had a dominant May; Marisnick walked just 10 times in 250 plate appearances before his promotion. and those rates were identical in April and May.

Still, he has added some speed to the roster, having stolen two bases already. He also adds above-average defense to the Marlins' already-strong defensive outfield. Last night, he showed evidence of that in chasing down this shallow popup and throwing out a runner for a double play. Marcell Ozuna was already an above-average center fielder for Miami, but having the faster and more athletically gifted Marisnick on board makes the Fish an even better defensive outfield.

Marisnick makes our Outfield better and adds much needed speed into the lineup

BTW Yelich was mostly a first baseman in HS so it would be an easy conversion back to first base

There is no way Yelich would be worse than Jones defensively

Jones is here. deal wid it

Jones has provided a good amount of homeruns what I don't get is that people here use to gripe about how bad LoMo was at First base and now when we have Jones who is truly by far a disaster with the glove at first base, it's like "Oh well" or as PopTart clearly indicated "Deal wid it"... As a Marlin's fan , it is hard for me to watch him, day in and day out, totally lost out there.

The play the other day Bases loaded 1 out ground ball sharply hit to first he never tried getting the runner at the plate since the DP was not there and it cost the Marlins a run. In Fact Salty ended up telling him to go to first to at least get one out on the play. He almost stood there not knowing what to do with that ball in his hand. It reminded me of my kids little league baseball at the age of 9. If we have to be content with that then stop complaining about Hech being the worse SS in the majors. Stop complaining about Turner/Wolf, being lousy starters. Hey might as well turn off the scoreboard and not care if the Marlins win or lose.

I believe people griped more about Morrison's LF defense, terrible hitting that didn't live up to expectations, and constant injuries.

And I believe you are correct. We could have lived with Morrison's lack of defense if he had at least been hitting like we had hoped. Alas, not the case.

He's played OF his entire pro career. According to metrics, Ozuna is actually the worst of the Stanton, Ozuna Yelich trio this year (Ozuna is still above avg). Regardless, they're all good OFers defensively.

Again, Marsinick has yet to prove he can hit mlb pitching so not sure why this is a thing (He's struck oout 6 times in 19 AB so far).

Those metrics only compare you to others playing your same position, right? It's not an absolute rating, but rather a relative one, then. This is especially relevant because we have the option to put Marisnick in CF and Ozuna in LF (right?).

Exactly. It is caluculated with others in the same position so not sure Wild Card has such a hard time believing that Yelich has been a pretty damn good LFer this year. If Ozuna played LF all year, then sure, he'd grade out higher than Yelich, but as it stands Yelich has played better defense at LF than Ozuna has at CF. I can certainly buy that.

I think that's crazy talk. Just me.
