I think he's worth a shot for the Rockies, or some other hitter friendly team in need of second base help. Marlins Park is probably the worst place for him to continue his career.

It's bad for a guy who has gap power to hit at a park with huge gaps? I understand your viewpoint, but it's incredibly naive. If Uggla regains his stroke, I guarantee you he'll do just fine at whatever park he's playing at. If he doesn't...then he'll be back on the free agent market soon enough.

But he doesn't have gap power. Christian Yelich has gap power. Those HR's don't become doubles at Marlins Park, they become outs. He's not a guy spraying line drives around the outfield, he hits big fly balls that are either out of the park or out in a glove.

 

Even when he was a decent player, he made comments back in '12 about how he would hit a ball at Marlins Park and start trotting... then it ends up being an out. He needs a bandbox.
