Hammerhead, with all due respect. We have waited 4 years for him to learn. He did so well in the first 2.5 months. What happened? I remember on tv rich and tommy saying that he doesn't need to hit the home run, just hit square and the let the ball dunk into the outfield. And he did that.

 

He stands there, chasing everything, expecting that 600 ft homer. Just dunk the ball, bro. He can hit home runs by accident. Just shorten the swing, have PITCH RECOGNITION, then he will win that MVP everyone talks about. He's just not there man, not even close. Good post though.

I'm getting pretty tired of seeing Stanton strike out on breaking balls low and outside. He's trying to pull everything,. It would seem to be such an easy correction to take the ball to right field like he did earlier in the year.

 

That's exactly what i am talking about. We all think Preston Wilson sometimes doesn't know what he's talking about but he's right on one thing. He stands too far away from the plate. Standing closer will make the pitcher succumb to trying to throw it down the middle or around the plate. Then he will crush that ball. Everything that Stanton hits square for the last month has been a pitching "accident". They should have just thrown a slider away like the other guy said.

Just saying don't be upset. Stanton doesn't pay your bills and he's not going to be standing next to you on your death bed. It's not like he cares for us anyway. He doesn't even know us.

Still some issues hitting with runners on. Also, I had to watch the Houston feed and yesterday they noted that since May 7, Stanton was hitting .196 with RISP. That is pretty awful.

 

Definitely a huge series coming up but would have been nice to see the nationals and braves lose today.

Vince, you're right. I have noticed Stanton's pitch recognition issues, it is a glaring problem. If he fixes that he would be just unfair.

Hey welcome. To clarify for the one millionth time, I don't hate mike. He's actually a very good athlete. A B plus player if you will. The occasional clutch hit. Not much else. Plus his defense has greatly improved from the last couple of years. I rate him a solid 6 out of 10 this year. If he struck out less, then an 8. So with this said,

Look man, I get what you are saying and I appreciate you looking that up. Offensively, I compare him to let's say ryan Howard. Big home runs right? Not much else. If Stanton forced the ball to get anywhere near him if he laid off the bad pitches, then we wouldn't be talking about this. I have no idea why everyone defends him when we see it ourselves he looks like garbage flailing at these bad pitches. These guys are professionals. Yet you guys jump on solano who actually has pitch recognition and thankfully adeiny is getting there too.

Do you think I root for uggla, Ramirez, Ross, Cabrera, Webb, qualls, Adrian Gonzalez, nolasco, and everyone else we once had? HELL NO. Once they take off the marlins uniform, the hell do I care about them. Same goes if Stanton gets traded, or if hand gets traded. I want that world title because I miss my grandfather and we used to watch every marlins game together when I was young and still talked about them during my 8 years with the navy. Now he's gone. And I want that World Series for him. Again I stress I don't care who the marlins have, just get there. I am merely stating opinion. I (along) with my own father will say Stanton was the man from march 31 to about the early part of June. You heard nothing from me. But his struggles don't affect my sleep. I am just a spectator. That is all.
