You write good articles, man. And i agree. As a bonus, braves are losing right now. So other than needing all the help we can get, we need to win also.

Thanks, buddy. I appreciate it. And yeah, it's nice when the teams ahead of us lose (especially the BARVES) but we can't control that, so we just need to worry about our own games and get as many wins as we can.

Question for you. Pittsburgh and washington play 3 times this weekend. Who do you want to win? I personally want pittsburgh to win 2 because marlins are within striking distance of nationals

Eh, as nice as the division would be, the Nationals are an even better team than their record shows. I don't think they'll have any trouble winning the division. Our odds for the Wild Card are admittedly slim, but I think that's our chance. So, definitely rooting for the Nats to beat up on the Pirates since they'll definitely be a team we need to pass.

Dont forget about milwaukee. I believe they are up 1.5 games in the division. Should pittsburgh overcome them, then milwaukee drops to a wild card contender. I believe whoever has positive control of the central will impact the entire wild card. Cubs are doing their part by containing milwaukee, and thus thankfully helping out everyone else. There is lots of times left but its going to take a bit of time to weed out the teams that wont make it. I mean the padres now think they are in and they start against the cardinals for 4 tonight.

True, but either way I don't think we'll be catching the Nationals, so if they beat the Pirates it'll make things easier for us in the Wild Card chase.

I have doubts they can hang on down the stretch with the injuries, sporadic starting pitching/bullpen, and offense coming back down to earth.

I have doubts they can be serious contenders next year either, with missing Fernandez for part of the year and considering they need upgrades every position in their infield.

All things considered, this season has been so enjoyable, the playoffs would be a bonus at the very least.

That said they would have to sneak in a couple of trades and get a pitcher and a bat then we'll see what they could do

Well, Frisaro mentions the playoffs but it's basically about Stanton and the future. Interesting notes from Frisaro, and they are all NEW news, not the crap that's been repeated.

1. Marlins WILL offer Stanton a deal this winter.

2. Marlins WILL NOT Trade Stanton, even if they don't reach a deal this winter.

3. IF they have to trade him, it won't be until they HAVE to, at which point they will expect MAJOR LEAGUE talent in return.

4. Marlins expect to play a payroll of $75 MILLION next season. That is a huge increase on this year, and would allow for a few major acquisitions considering the $10 Mill of crap that comes off the books this year.

The bullpen is just fine right now. Just look at the stats. The jobs that Morris, Hatcher, and Dyson have done have saved our season thus far. Even the weak link Dunn has pitched much better lately. We might even get Capps back which would make it even stronger.

The starting pitching is fine also as long as Cosart pitches well and Alvarez stays healthy.

The biggest problem we have is the offense. We need more out of 1st and 2nd base and we need Ozuna to get back on track.

Ozuna and Salty and Jones all need to get back on track. Second base has been a problem most of the year, even when the offense was hitting well. It's the inconcistencies of those three that have really hurt.
