pollythewog
Kike was pretty cool in RF. He kept acknowledging us when we were screaming at him. Reed, however, didn't do anything.

pollythewog
I kinda want to start a 2015 thread already. Thoughts guys? This is the reason why: Gammons thinks that Pablo Sandoval‘s days as a member of the Giants are numbered. Sandoval will be one of baseball’s most sought-after free agents this offseason, and the Marlins and Red Sox are both “very interested,” according to Gammons. “The Giants, I don’t think have any chance of re-signing him,” he adds. pollythewog
Man I would love Pablo hitting cleanup in our lineup. Low k rate, low GB rate, some power to boot. Really nice glove at 3b as well.

He would really change our entire lineup and he's the kind of hitter that can bat in a lot of places and give us plenty of flexibility. You could bat him anywhere from 2-5 in the lineup depending on who you have starting that day and what group of guys gives you the best chance to win. He would change a lot... Wild Card
I don't see the marlins signing him because they seem to be content with hitsmcgehee for now. Unless the 2016 3b fa market is weak. Anyone know? They can move Casey to 1B. It's not like they have a standout favorite for next season on the other side of the diamond... Maybe casey's first half will make some stupid team think he's actually good and the fish can trade him and get something okay in return. I'd rather not have groundball mcgehee in the lineup except to yell at umpires.

I'd rather not have groundball mcgehee in the lineup except to yell at umpires. There are few, if any teams stupider than our Marlins. If anyone thinks his first half wasn't a fluke and that he's actually good, you know damn well what team it'll be. In related news:
canada-marlin24
I would rather Sandoval at first. McGehee has ben very steady at third.

pollythewog
http://www.fangraphs.com/statsplits.aspx?playerid=6086&position=3B&season=2014 look at first half vs 2nd half. look at babip specifically. its the most telling. the real hitsmcgehee is the 2nd half one. Not to mention Pablo is a far superior defensive 3b than "hits"

Michael
We all know he'd be traded after year 2, anyway. And it'd be a backloaded contract. Like, year one at $10m and year two at $10.2m and year three at $10.25m. Cheapskate Loria.
