April 14, 201511 yr Latos has not thrown mid-90's for a while. You can find a compilation of him with the Reds in 2012 on YouTube. He is consistently 91-93 and occasionally 94 or 95. Yo dawg yr so wrong it hurts. His 2014 drop was DRAMATIC. 2013: avg FB velocity 92.5 2014: avg FB velocity 90.7
April 14, 201511 yr Latos isn't a problem. Get with it. The guy was a fucking machine in the band box of Cincy. He's going to be good here. He had a rough start to the year in his first outing and he was hampered by two delays tonight and still pitched well. Go back to his first two innings. His stuff was low-mid 90s and it was all moving. He looked good. No pitcher expects to go through two rain delays and still be in the game but he handled it well. Remember, two of the three runs he gave up were actually allowed to cross by Dyson. Was he in the md 90s? That's pretty encouraging
April 14, 201511 yr It's not so much that as it is Red fucking throwing him up against a God fucking RIGHT HANDED PITCHER! He hits LEFTIES WELL. LEFTIES! Seriously. Someone needs to introduce Red to baseball-reference. Or statistics. Or numbers. Or math. Or a fucking abacus.
April 14, 201511 yr Was he in the md 90s? That's pretty encouraging His first two innings he was throwing 90-93. I think he topped out at 94.
April 14, 201511 yr Was he in the md 90s? That's pretty encouraging No. He maxed at 93. This guy is on some weird cool drug where 1s and 2s looks like 5s and 6s
April 14, 201511 yr No. He maxed at 93. This guy is on some weird cool drug where 1s and 2s looks like 5s and 6s Ok so he was two miles an hour off of where he needs to be for you to consider him good. So because of that he wasn't good and he's a problem. Seriously? Wow. Latos was completely fine tonight. Just because we lost doesn't mean everyone was bad.
April 14, 201511 yr Author You know what I hate? You know what I REALLY FUCKING HATE? We revamped our offense to be a more well-rounded unit and an all-around threat [at least in the 1-6 parts of the lineup]. So why the FUCK does this lineup STILL LIVE AND DIE WITH STANTON? No matter who we fucking put around him, if he sucks, THE ENTIRE OFFENSE DIES. I feel we could have 8 Hall of Famers in their prime batting around Stanton but if Big G is slumping, that team will go NOWHERE. WHY?!

April 14, 201511 yr How could Preston Wilson possibly be getting dumber? Some sort of exercise he is doing? I don't know.
April 14, 201511 yr Enough of this "Red gets along great with the players" bullshit. He needs to stick a foot up their asses and enforce accountability on this p.o.s. offense
April 14, 201511 yr Stanton is the worst hitter in the MLB right now. Harkening back to last year, i like stanton. But come on, he IS overrated. But nobody and i mean positively nobody in baseball is worth $325 mil. Not him, trout, scherzer, kershaw nobody. Worst hitter now? No. Thats gattis. But one of them? Yes. Along with salty, hech, and arguably ozuna. If the offense shows up we would be 5-2.

I feel we could have 8 Hall of Famers in their prime batting around Stanton but if Big G is slumping, that team will go NOWHERE. WHY?! This really isn't surprising. If you take Stanton away from this lineup, it's mediocre at best. Look at the rest of the names.
April 14, 201511 yr Mid 90s = 94. He didn't hit that once tonight Are you really going to make that big of a deal off of 1 MPH?
April 14, 201511 yr Stanton has a career .901 OPS before his 25 year old season in over 2500 abs. Anyone who says shit about him doesn't know a single thing about baseball, you fucking idiots.
April 14, 201511 yr I don't know if I do a whole season of this, seriously. I just don't know. They've had too many years where I had to put up with crap, I'm crapped out.
April 14, 201511 yr Author This really isn't surprising. If you take Stanton away from this lineup, it's mediocre at best. Look at the rest of the names. I'll give you this, we've had better lineups around Stanton on paper [2012, going in anyways]. But even then, lived and died with Giancarlo.
April 14, 201511 yr This team is SOOOO boring to watch! Watch detroit or royals or even the padres. Geez its so frustrating we cant have good things. 12 years of losing. Totally worn out on this shit. ESPECIALLY with high expectations.
April 14, 201511 yr This really isn't surprising. If you take Stanton away from this lineup, it's mediocre at best. Look at the rest of the names. Morse is an above average hitter. So is Yelich. So is Gordon and he's a beast on the bases. Ozuna is still a kid finding his way. I think he could turn in to a solid .280-.300 yearly hitter. After that, yeah, we suck. I'd say right now its an average lineup with the potential to be above average.
