I really hate to add gasoline to this raging wildfire....but today's USA TODAY had an article on the top free agents that are left and who they may go to. Next to Javy's name?......the Marlins.

While the idea of signing Vlad is intriguing, Javy's expectations are more in line with our budget.

 

Granted, Vlad at 12-14M/year offers better payback than Pudge at $10M.....but can Loria stretch his $$$ that far? I am amazed that this whole concept of Vlad as a Marlin is gaining momentum, and would be shocked if it happens.

It depends on how bad he wants to be in Miami and how bad is he willing to fight the players union (basicaly ignore their advise to take the highest offer). He will have to take less money here, but there is a lot of proffesional (me included) that takes a little bit less of money for a living, in order to live in paradise.
