October 8, 201511 yr To be fair, while not my first choice, Nevin is a legit managerial candidate. He's been managing in the minors for years now and has interviewed for other MLB manager jobs. They said they might interview 20 people for the job...so why not talk to the guy?

I guess he has experience but at the minor league level ala Red even though he's done it longer. Its just because of the way they intended to go after a MLB veteran manager. If that was never the case, the Nevin pick wouldn't bug as much.

If that was never the case, the Nevin pick wouldn't bug as much. Well, it's just an interview. I'm sure there will be many others. I guess I'd rather they go through a thorough search than just hire someone solely because they have MLB managerial experience.
October 8, 201511 yr Author Well, it's just an interview. I'm sure there will be many others. Yep, several more
October 8, 201511 yr Author Any word if they'll be interviewing Ron Gardenhire? None yet but never know
October 8, 201511 yr Guys Ken Rosenthal just reported that for breakfast this morning Loria originally ordered his eggs scrambled but then returned them and asked for them over easy. This crap is unbearable.
October 8, 201511 yr Author Guys Ken Rosenthal just reported that for breakfast this morning Loria originally ordered his eggs scrambled but then returned them and asked for them over easy. This crap is unbearable. Shame on that waitress and chef for not knowing that would happen and on Ken for reporting it in the first place. He should've known

October 8, 201511 yr Edwin was a boss. One of my top two Marlins managers of all time. Rene Lachmann the other?
October 8, 201511 yr Author Damn, does he even get an interview or has that ship sailed? I wonder if it was Bud's decision or Loria's that changed this. Its not impossible he gets the gig, its just unlikely
October 8, 201511 yr Yep, several more But why the sudden impossibility for hiring Bud Black? Did I miss something?
October 8, 201511 yr But why the sudden impossibility for hiring Bud Black? Did I miss something? The Nationals officially firing Matt Williams?
October 8, 201511 yr Author But why the sudden impossibility for hiring Bud Black? Did I miss something? Not impossible, I just said that!
October 8, 201511 yr I don't have any clue what went wrong with Bud Black but now it makes think of those other possiblities brought up... Gardenhire, Riggleman, Acta... I wanna know what the FO is leaning towards now, if anything. Does a guy like Nevin really stand a chance or are they still leaning towards experience. The problem with the rest of the experienced candidates is that experience alone doesn't mean they're good, or a good fit for us. I felt like Black was/is a good fit with experience. Some of the other names would just be hiring a guy with experience solely because he has experience as opposed to because he would be a good fit.
October 8, 201511 yr If Admin's at the point of saying what he knew then we should all be worried. I'm dying to know if the Bud Black changes are due to Bud himself or "just Loria things". And whatever happened to going all out and trying to get their guy at any cost? They need to get back on that.
October 8, 201511 yr He's probably not interested because 1) this front office is a shitshow 2) there are better managerial openings out there
October 8, 201511 yr I'd like to know where everyone assumed the interest by Bud Black to come to the Marlins was ever mutual on Bud's side. From all that has been said, it was the Marlins interested in Bud. But people seem to forget, what about Bud's desires?
October 8, 201511 yr Author I don't have the answer for what went wrong with Bud or I'd say Are you suggesting that he was the top managerial candidate you kept saying they were targeting?
October 8, 201511 yr Sounds like he was because Admin never denied it and always liked the post that mentioned him.
