December 4, 201510 yr Also bonds' card number is 620. Get it?? 620! Like the day of the drugs. He did steroids. Ohhhh the irony. You mean 420.
December 4, 201510 yr “I’m excited to be here with the Marlins... Jeffrey Loria came to me with this opportunity to work with the Florida Marlins. I’ll always love the city of San Francisco. This is my home. The Florida Marlins gave me an opportunity, and Don Mattingly gave that opportunity by saying, ‘Barry, I’d love for you to be on my staff.’ And I told Donnie, ‘I’d love to work for you.” OMG are freakin kidding me?!??!???? Why do people, people IN BASEBALL, continue to do this! UGH that irks me so much!
December 4, 201510 yr lol good 1 clark larkspencer @clarkspencer 2h2 hours ago #Marlins have now added 3 former All-Stars to their coaching staff (Bonds, Mattingly, Wallach), but none to their active roster. Bonds could probably still draw a walk
December 5, 201510 yr is this the same Juan Nieves that played only 3 seasons in MLB level ? does he have any experience as coach? He threw a No-Hitter at the age of 22 for the Brewers and is described as an excellent pitching coach
December 5, 201510 yr Nieves led the Red Sox to the second lowest earned run average in the American League as the team went on to win the World Series.[
December 5, 201510 yr Do the Marlins really have 10 coaches? Not sure if the bullpen coordinator is coach but that would 11 guys!!! When did MLB start allowing this many coaches? I'm old enough to remember a Manager and 3 coaches on a staff on baseball cards from the early 70's!

December 5, 201510 yr I mean it's all well and good signing Barry Bonds as Hitting Coach but it's not like we have many power bats for him to pass on that side of his experience to.

He can teach patience and how to properly approach an AB which is good. Think of how many times Stanton got frustrated with a lack of good pitches and went into a slump.
December 5, 201510 yr oh shit i thought bonds was coming in as asst. hitting coach not as the full-time hitting coach.. lol menechino.
December 5, 201510 yr Author oh shit i thought bonds was coming in as asst. hitting coach not as the full-time hitting coach.. lol menechino. I think when they said Bonds was "thinking it over", that was the demand. Cause he went from "Assistant" to "Co-Hitting Coach" to "Primary Hitting Coach"
December 5, 201510 yr I think when they said Bonds was "thinking it over", that was the demand. Cause he went from "Assistant" to "Co-Hitting Coach" to "Primary Hitting Coach" Which I think would be ok if we didn't have our incumbent hitting coach still here. Seems fishy. Hope it isn't something that creates trouble later.
