December 19, 201510 yr Author Hech isn't as interested in talking so far They should try talking to him in Spanish, that should help.
December 19, 201510 yr muts signed asdrubal Oh yeah. Forgot about that. Either way it would be harder for us to replace Hech than Ozuna. Dietrich in LF and Yelich in CF would easily replace Ozuna. Unless Rojas can handle SS everyday?

December 20, 201510 yr Well shit, how'd I miss this great show Well shit. Glad I missed it. I didnt watch it and I know for a fact that it was boring.
December 20, 201510 yr Why in the world would you want to start Dietrich? Or we can stop the damn circus. And trade Ozuna and comp to the Indians for a starter, and call up a cuban we should of signed years ago named Yoenis Cespedes to start in LF. Idk, just a BASEBALL idea. Teams do make moves with the sole purpose of WINNING right?
January 6, 201610 yr http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/01/rangers-marlins-talking-marcell-ozuna-but-deal-unlikely.html Here we go again with the Ozuna rumors. If we trade him for Nick Martinez... well, we better not trade him for Nick Martinez or Chi Chi Gonzalez. We'd be better off trading him for Chi Chi Rodriguez! Maybe the mystery west coast team would be a better trade partner.
January 6, 201610 yr If Ozuna is dealt #Marlins are prepared to go with a platoon of Derek Dietrich/right-handed hitter in left and Yelich in center
January 6, 201610 yr If Ozuna is dealt #Marlins are prepared to go with a platoon of Derek Dietrich/right-handed hitter in left and Yelich in center Awesome. Can reed Johnson play left?
January 6, 201610 yr If Ozuna is dealt #Marlins are prepared to go with a platoon of Derek Dietrich/right-handed hitter in left and Yelich in center I don't mind Dietrich's bat in the lineup. Also, LF isn't a difficult position to play so hopefully Dietrich can be adequate out there with more experience. My only concern is the return. If we aren't getting a clear upgrade as in a #2 or a legit #3 starter we might as well keep Ozuna. This sudden urgency again stinks of one of Loria's grudges. He wants Ozuna gone before spring training apparently.
January 6, 201610 yr 3:35pm: Talks have indeed involved Gonzalez and “perhaps another piece,” Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald tweets. Can anyone give me some info on this Chi Chi character? Was he ever a good prospect? I don't like an inactive off-season even with glaring needs, but bone headed moves because "Loria" really piss me off.

AKA he sucks
January 6, 201610 yr Author To be fair none of this smells like Loria pushing Ozuna out. There doesn't seem to be urgency anymore. Seems like recently the team was more inclined to stand their ground on the return and keep Ozuna despite Loria's feelings on him. If there's any urgency it's from the teams who lost out on Alex Gordon who have now called on Ozuna to see what we want for him. Unless I'm wrong I don't think we're exactly pushing Ozuna out the door at this point.
January 6, 201610 yr Author With that said, Chi Chi Gonzalez sounds like a large breasted Puerto Rican woman.
January 6, 201610 yr I just hope we trade Jose now so our rotation can have the worst K rate in the history of Major League Baseball. And to top it off, the solution to help the pitch to contact staff is to put Dietrich in LF...
January 6, 201610 yr Yes he doesn't strike people out, but he's by no means bad. 3.9 ERA at 23 years old in the American League (limited time but still), mid 2 ERA across two leagues in 2014, was the 29th ranked prospect in baseball at the start of 2015, and he's from South Florida so some built in marketability. Look at his last start and he went 5 1/3 IP 1 ER. Quality starts back to back to finish. I get that he's a work in progress and his K rates are incredibly low, but he keeps the ball on the ground for the most part and is a consistent pitcher. He's pretty much a prospect version of what we had in Henderson Alvarez. Oh well. If we get him I wouldn't be upset. Not everything is about swings and misses.
January 6, 201610 yr With that said, Chi Chi Gonzalez sounds like a large breasted Puerto Rican woman. Hell.....yes
January 6, 201610 yr Do I think he's worth Ozuna? No, but Ozuna's incredibly inconsistent and has been overrated by the fanbase after his really good 2014 performance. Like I've said in the past, a good organization works through Ozuna's problems and figures out how to consistently get his 2014 performance out of him, but we're not a good organization so here we are.
