Marlins Offseason Hot Stove Special!

Featured Replies

Nats asked Miami for Yelich when they asked for Gio so Ozuna won't cut it

If they are shopping him for a starting CF, what options would be more appealing than Ozuna (in your mind)?

That would be great except all of Corey Hart's damage would have to be done from the disabled list.

Bang zip zop boom!!!

With so many guys still left in free agency and so many potential names as far as trades... this is a weird offseason all over MLB. It almost feels like there's gonna be a strange flurry of activity the week before pitchers and catchers have to report. Its like these pieces have to fall at some point but we're still waiting so when the hell does it start to fall?

Cliff Lee wants to sign with a team that can win the WS

Idiot. How many legit WS contenders right now have gaping rotation holes for a guy coming back from over a year away due to injuries? I'm just a Marlins fan but I don't see how he wouldn't accept a team like us where he's basically guaranteed a rotation spot so that he can prove his worth again. If he's lucky and proves himself then he can be traded to a contender in July.

Admin, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that if the Marlins do trade Ozuna, Upton hasn't been considered as a replacement?

Theoretically every team could win the World Series so what is cliff lee talking about . Another reason why we should stick it to these other people.

Teams that could be playoff contenders could have holes in the back end of their rotations though.

The Ozuna deal is going to be like that Kimbrell/Upton trade the day before the season opener.

Culture of losing and not a good idea. Jorge Julio comes to mind in 2007. And that was maybin. Alas, saw both teams crapped out.

The Marlins are too cheap and incompetent to have a "hot stove" to be honest. All they have is a smoldering pile of camel feces.

Agreed. Sometimes I don't know why we even talk about this so much

They are one of many but still unlikely

I would say get Jose to recruit, but who even knows where he stands with the team. Maybe a signing of Cespedes could influence. Gotta spend to get though, not really a Marlins way of thinking.
