July 1, 201610 yr Do it The only validity your argument has is that the Marlins front office are terrible negotiators and at least this trade wasn't as bad as some of their other moves. I'm under the assumption the Marlins have a team option for next season? Anyways. I don't really object to the trade, but that's probably because I'm surprised we got a player back at all. I'm used to the Marlins trading assets just so they don't have to pay someone. A performing player? Even if whatever his face is pans out, we probably would've dumped him in two seasons the minute he was owed money.

July 1, 201610 yr For what it's worth, I don't understand how we didn't need another bullpen arm. Every team needs another bullpen arm. The Royals are a mid market team paying Wade Davis a good chunk of change. That doesn't mean it only makes sense to have him if they trade Kelvin Herrera for SP. A bullpen has 7 pitchers in it. With the pussification of SP usage around baseball, you're better off having as many good relievers as possible. It's a formula many teams in baseball are trying to get to. As good as you think our bullpen might be, Rodney is arguably the best reliever in it now. Nothing wrong getting a guy like that. What SP did you guys want for Paddack?
