The trade would be stupid in a vacuum - I mean normally you'd rather not give up anything at all for 39 year old relievers. They're making a run at it though which is good to see. If your argument is solely that they should've used him as a piece to get a starter back, that's fair, but let's see how it all shakes out.

First, Sam Dyson over Rodney at this point and we gave him away to the rangers. No need to make this trade today if we didn't make that trade last year. There's no plan. It's like they do shit just for the sake of doing shit. Second, if this would have been the other way around we would have traded Rodney for the Ivan Pinyeros's of the world. No way would we have gotten a quality prospect back for a 39 year old reliever. Of course that's speculation on my part but that's just how I feel about our FO right now. It's almost like the other team says "hey , it's the Marlins. Let's hose them!".
