January 24, 20179 yr Author Dude is real bad and has two last names. At least he has a name, the guy we traded to philly hasn't been named yet and he's an adult. We win this deal by default.
January 24, 20179 yr There's a chance the guy's name is "cash," but I'd be shocked if the Marlins were willing to send real life money for this garbage pitcher.
January 24, 20179 yr Young guy with upside, albeit somewhat limited. One thing that jumps out is his low BB and relatively high K rate. Odd move for the fish tbh. Solid depth signing, I approve.
January 24, 20179 yr Author The 24-year-old has a solid 62/14 K/BB ratio over 66 innings in the majors Didn't know this.
January 24, 20179 yr Author With 84 hits. Well yeah his ERA was super high. There's a reason he was acquired for a PTBNL. But it a depth trade and low risk so one promising sign is nice (K/BB ratio)
January 24, 20179 yr Looks like his Velo increased by about 4 ticks from 2015-2016 although it didn't translate into improved results.
January 24, 20179 yr Frisaro says he'll be a starter for us. This is mildly interesting. He was a starter up until last season in the Phils system. Guess it's good to add some rotation depth. He was a decent prospect a couple of years ago and still relatively young. Not a bad gamble for nothing...Maybe he can figure something out with a change in organizations.
January 24, 20179 yr Author Didn't he dominate the Marlins in a start last year? He had a decent start against them in 2015 - http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MIA/MIA201505030.shtml
January 24, 20179 yr Lol @ our lineup that day. Morse, Brignac and the Solano bros were the 5-8 "punch."
January 24, 20179 yr Zone pounder with good K/BB totals. Throws 94 but can go higher. Really good numbers mostly in AAA last year. Gave up a lot of hits and runs with the Phillies last year but he's still just 23. Looks like a high ceiling relief depth pickup who can start in a pinch. Which is fine. Don't care what asshole Frisaro says. He's not a full time starter.
January 25, 20179 yr 25-man roster prediction *Pitcher : (fixed) Volquez, Conley, Chen, Koehler, Straily, Locke, Ramos, Ziegler, McGowan, Phelps, Tazawa, Barraclough (candidates for 13th pitcher) Urena, Nicolino, Wittgren, Gonzalez *Catcher : Realmuto, Ellis *Infielder : Bour, Dietrich, Rojas, Gordon, Hech, Prado *Outfielder : Ozuna, Yelich, Stanton, Ichiro
January 25, 20179 yr AAA pitching will have some depth this year with Wittgren, Steckenrider, Nicolino, Gonzalez, Cervenka, Esch, Despaigne, Ellington, etc. Does anyone know if Raudel Lazo is still with the Fish? The guy was always an impressive lefty. Tayron Guerrero may start in AAA as well. I'm really high on both Jarlin Garcia and Dillon Peters- AA guys who should be mid rotation arms.
January 25, 20179 yr The 25th spot should be Carter or Reynolds,if we still didn't learned our lesson of last season's offense collapsed in the final two months then I would call Loria and want him to eat his SHIT.
January 25, 20179 yr At least he has a name, the guy we traded to philly hasn't been named yet and he's an adult. We win this deal by default. Lmao this wins post of the year in my book. Spot on Admin!
