Koehler, what do we do with him?

Featured Replies

He "recovered" last night sorta kinda towards the end of the start but he's still been abysmal this year. I can't imagine he has trade value. What's his arbitration status? I say non-tender candidate. I'm tired of watching him start games. He's one of the worst regular rotation members I can ever remember.

But why ? I don't understand the non-tender DFA idea. We have no talent thats waiting in the wings anyhow. The Marlins needs pitchers that can make starts. If we end up trading relievers I say move him to the pen. Otherwise let him make his starts now and then while trying to trade him for that abysmal return if any. Calling him one of the worst regular rotaion members you can remember is probably a stretch too. He's been absolutly terrible this year but decent in the past with occassional really good starts.

Throw him in a well.

Koehler is a decent #5 pitcher.  Anyone thinking he is more than that is delusional.

Agreed but who do you wanna start instead ? We have basicly used everyone aviailble and they all been terrible. Nico, Conley,  Worley, the irishman, etc. Let them keep starting (except) Worley and perhaps a miracle will happen and one of them can start to perform decently with consistency.

He isn't even a decent 5 this season.

Not Koehler.

Who the hell could still defend Koehler besides him or his wife?

Looking at his wife she actually looks like one who wouldn't defend him. She probably tells him off after his starts lol.

Trade him for brad hand

No way that happens unless we package him with Yelich.

Laughable that Preller is asking for Top top prospects for Brad Hand.

Yea,he's a decent SP and durable innings eater in the past,he also be punished by demote to minors for his bad performance this year,so I would give him a pass.

Marlins should complete the first ever if later on trade in mlb. Trade him for a bag of balls, and have a clause that says if he ever stops sucking fish dicks the receiving team gives up a draft pick or something.
