It’s one thing to call Sierra a “Mike Hill guy.” Calling an elite prospect a “Mike Hill guy” because the Marlins got him is ridiculous. You might not care about rankings, but the fact that he’s pretty much a consensus top 20 guy makes him a guy a lot of people like, not just Mike Hill.

 

 

Anyone remember the movie Road Trip? I feel like Mike Hill is walking around now like when the nerdy kid Kyle finally gets laid and he struts around like he's hot shit all of a sudden. 

 

 

Any chance Yelich releases a statement saying anything about the fan base here? For all Stanton said about the circus organisation down here he also made a point to speak highly of the true Marlins fans and of the city. Would be nice if Yelich at least does that because his last month here is pretty insulting to the fanbase.

Yes they like them, but all I'm saying is that Mike Hill doesn't execute a trade unless he gets a toolsy bat or a power arm with raw stuff.

 

Nowhere did I imply this was a bad trade or he's a bad player because Hill acquired him. You are just being a prick for the sake of being one.

I’d just like to point out that after this trade, the identity of this franchise has completely changed. 

 

With the talent in this organization, it’s is very realistic to think by 2020 we could have a potent line up with speed and power, a bullpen with some power arms and a rotation full of 3/4s that just need to get us through 6 innings. 

 

This formula has never failed (see Royals, Kansas City). We should be very excited about our future!

Cause you have to take the best available guy in a trade and if the Nets want JT, they got to give up Robles.

 

 

I hope the Marlins start acquiring players who can fill the nearly 100 HR void left by Stanton and Ozuna being traded.

And Stanton was a raw, toolsy athlete coming out of high school when the Marlins drafted him for what it’s worth.

If you have a chance to get him you go for it even if your primary need is pitching. And if we were to get Robles and then have too many OFs there's two answers to that. A) Of course not all of the outfield prospects will come through so the more the better and B) you could always trade one of the prospects, even Robles himself, for more pitching or for whatever the needs may be.

Alcantara, Guzman, Neidert, Morimoto (SP?) are nice prospects, but unlikely to ever become "Ace" type pitchers.

I’m glad we didn’t sign Ohtani to be honest. Not only is the guy a top OF prospect, but he pitches too. We need less toolsy players.
