My feeling is that Jeter felt discouraged about the negative fan reaction, to the return we got back from the Stanton trade.Talent wise Keeping Castro makes the trade better for the Marlins.

Jeter didn't care about fan reaction when he traded the top 4 popular players why would he care about the fan reaction to a trade of Castro, a player that most people still don't even realize we have. Keeping Starlin Castro to appease the fans is like buying someone a candy bar after burning down their house.

Both. We got a good return and why bother keeping a disgruntled player on the team? If he doesn't wanna be here and you get a good return then yes dump him.

Both. We got a good return and why bother keeping a disgruntled player on the team? If he doesn't wanna be here and you get a good return then yes dump him.

Pick whatever word you want. It doesn't matter. I've seen some people say Milwaukee overpaid and I've seen some say it's not an overpay because Yelich is so good that he's worth it. We made a good trade because we got good players back for Yelich and that's what matters. 

 

 

I mean barring some catastrophic bust situation, Brinson is projected to pretty much be a replica of yelich (High average, 20-25 HR's, great D and athleticism). So the fact that we also got an additional top 100 outfielder, an infielder 1 injury-plagued season removed from the top 100 list (that should more than likely be an awesome bounceback player) and an intriguing arm is an incredible return. But that's just my opinion.

As much as I hate to see Yelich go, this is my take as well. He will be a very good player for the Brewers, but this was a great trade for Miami. 1 for 3 on trades just proves Jeter can still hit for average. Don’t ask him to defend these moves though. Overrated in that aspect.

Can Brinson hit .282 with 81 rbi this year or next (like Yelich)? Why not? Diaz is a great prospect at 2b or ss (MILW MiL POY in '16. Can you imagine getting 20 HR from a second baseman? Yamamoto was excellent at A+Carolina League last season - his team's best overall pitcher. Based on achievement, even he belongs among the top 15 Marlin prospects. All in all, an amazing trade.

The only problem with that is Barraclough’s potential to completely lose the strike zone.

Yamamota  is also an all-star spin guy. He generates K's using a high fastball with a dumb spin rate. His curve ball is awesome too. The reason he is not more highly thought of is he has no third pitch, and his fastball can only really hit 92.

 

 

92 is enough if his curve is as good as scouts say it is.

 

Good enough for a bullpen peice. You won’t find many avg-velo guys with one off speed pitch, make a living going through the lineup more than once 

 

 

He's only 21 right? He can learn or improve a third pitch. Get a good changeup and that fastball becomes better.

 

That is correct. He definitely can, I’m simply evaluating him on what he has in his arsenal as of today.

Based on what I've read on him, I have no doubt he will succeed in AA. Two pitches are more than enough in double-A. He needs to use his advanced pitch's to spend time working on a third pitch. If he can develop a high spin change he will be good even with he mediocre velo.
